What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of my biggest fixed blades paired with one of my smallest folders. Turned out to be a perfect carry.

Mind telling me a bit about that Hammer Brand? Is it a splitback, or possible using a catch bit on the secondaries? Or maybe three springs? Do you know the age?

It looks fantastic and I’d love to learn a bit about it.
Thanks for you're interest, friend.
It is a split back, tang stamp HB11 (model number I assume). The other tang stamp matches 1939-1941 Hammer Brand Logo but another forum member here did some research and believes it is post 2004 offshore made by Taylor who had the rights to the Hammer Brand name. I believe his info is quite accurate as it shows no sign of being vintage. Still a solid knife though with stout pulls, gator snap and nicely ground sharp blades that are nice and thin at the spine. The covers don't excite me though, kind of a gumfuddy like material that I can't identify. I picked it up cheap on the big auction site. If you see one there and the price is reasonable it might be worth grabbing, this one doesn't disappoint me at all as a good quality knife. :)

Since today ends with "Y " I decided to carry some Stag . Have to use some old photos from 2018 because it was a very rotten day outside .

What a great looking knife that is, Harry. Fantastic stag, classy bolsters and the 43 is such a fine pattern.
I know some don't care for a lanyard hole but to me it is perfect on a knife that size.

Very interesting story on that one and a nice knife too! Love a good splitback. Thank you for sharing the information.

Day four of the Moki binge. I inherited this from my father when he passed. He must have purchased it when he was living in Germany in the 90s. At that time he introduced me to Moki when he gave me a cocobolo handled Glory, which has seen a lot of carry time. It even went with me the first time I went up Mt Whitney (14,508’).
😁 I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your Mokis! Which is your favorite?

That's a tough choice. The one I carry most is the Fish Owl - It is so light that it disappears in your pocket. The Pearl/Abalone Glory has my favorite handle, pictures don't do justice to the pearl, with its green and pink highlights. The large Kronos feels really solid.

For sentimental value, I start with the cocobolo Glory (which I haven't posted recently), which was my first Moki. My father gave that to me around 1997 or so. I also have two of my father's that I inherited when he passed - the cocobolo Pliant that I posted today, and a black lip pearl Glory, which is frequently found in my suit pocket on Sundays.

All of them have fantastic action and are a step above most brands in fit and finish. Moki does not get enough attention here.

I see you often feed birds, and just kindly remind, pay more attention if you wanted to feed 🐿️squirrel.
Last time when I was feeding squirrel, maybe I use wrong gesture, before, I always keep my palm up, but that day I was palm down, the squirrel run towards me, I though it was about get the nuts, but it bit me.

Funny thing is, when I called the health department in my province, (I went to the hospital, they didn't have rabies shot), in the call, the officer (or representative) asked:
"Where did you get bite? What is the status of the squirrel?"
"What do you mean the status of the squirrel please?"
"Is the squirrel in fever?"
?????????
Please, if there is anyone here could tell me a feasible way to know whether a squirrel is in fever or not, will be appreciated.o_O

anyway, have safe and joyful feeding

Thanks Bob!

I’m diggin that new Sao.

I'm a fan of the orange you know. My Tigers won their little Gator Bowl. Not a masterpiece of a football season, but not a dumpster fire to go 9-4.

Have a great morning!
Thanks Jon.
Hopefully Dabo has a good recruiting year.
