It’s been a busy weekend! We’ve been running back and forth across the mountain to the hospital anxiously awaiting the birth of our first grandbaby. Thursday was a false alarm, but Friday night we were back again. Then very late last night we were blessed with a beautiful granddaughter. Both Momma and Baby are doing well; Son-In-Law is a little worse for wear, but nothing that a good night’s sleep won’t fix. Incidentally, he probably won’t get that for awhile.😂

Congrats!!!! 😁👍
The grandparents job is to spoil the grandchildren and eventual/inevitable great grandchidren, by giving them plenty of chocolate, coffee/tea/Dr. Pepper/Mtn Dew (or other high caffeine beverage), puppies, kittens, a flock of girbel, troop of turtle, tin horns & snare drums, kazoo, Kalimba, Ukelyli ... (and if interested after they start school, violin or flute or bugle/trumpet/cornet, drums ... or the band/orchestra instrument they want. 😈 Remember the "blessing" all parents give their kids when upset: "I HOPE YOUR KIDS ARE JUST LIKE YOU!!!!" 🤣🤣👍)

Have you desided which of those two beauties you were toting when she arrived will be her first knife on her between 5th to 8th birthday or Christmas, when you carry on the family tradition of gifting a pocket knife, teaching to freehand sharpen, and safely use it "when they are mature enough"? 😇

As a gunstock man I've come close to pulling the trigger on one of those Trestle Pine gunstocks several times but always stop myself. How does it rate?
Here are my two. I meant to post these yesterday for ya, or anyone else looking at the Pines. I've been peer pressured enough from y'all, now it's my turn to return the favor 😂

The wood models are a lot thinner than the stag, I think they did a good job matching up the scales.

Nothing beats being grandparents!!
What about "Great Grandparenthood" and "great great grandparenthood" ... or tagging a state record whitetail/Elk/Moose/Antelope/Black Bear in the back yard from the porch on opening morning ...or capturing 250 Bluegill/Sunfish, 175 Crappie, 100 15+ pound catfish, 45 Walleye, and 20 large Muskie in one afternoon ... from shore ... (saving the cost of fuel for the boat and/or the energy rowing/paddeling) for the grandkids, great grand kids, and maybe the great great grandkids to clean for the family reunion and fish fry?
Those are and would be notible accomplishments.😇

(grandparent can happen when u 34 to 36. great grandparent happens in your early/mid 50's or early 60's. Great Great early/mid 70's or early 80's, depening on how soon the grandkids and great grandkids discover the making babies hobby ...🤔🙄😇)

I haven’t really had a chance to consider which knife, but if she’s anything like her mother, it’ll probably be the #21 Bull Buster. We gave our daughter many knives, but what she mostly carried was a 1976 Sears Stockman and more often that while a Ranger for the US Park Service, this Case SS Sodbuster with a custom fluff and buff by me. (Here’s a picture that I posted a few years ago of that one. It’s been a good one.)
