Nice pair Barrett and those Stylophones are so cool. I need to get one of those. I’m sure the kids would have fun figuring out songsGlad you got it sorted!
I bought the typewriter a year or two ago from a guy locally who restores them. Typing on it definitely takes some adjustment after typing almost exclusively on a laptop keyboard for most of my adult life.
Thanks, Harry. I doubt there’s a total of 3” or 4” on the ground here. I’ve only really had to shovel the driveway once.
It’s not my idea of fun.
Thanks, Jack. I hope Mrs. Shaw is doing well. I’m certain that she appreciates you keeping in touch.
Interesting knife, Bob.
A friend and I were driving from NW Arkansas to St. Louis and back, must’ve been during college. His dad was a big cigar smoker, and we got the idea while driving past Cuba, MO on the way up there that we’d stop on the way back, buy some cheap cigars at a truck stop in Cuba (I think they were full-size Swisher Sweets), get rid of the packaging and tell his dad that we’d picked him up some Cuban cigars (we may have said, “cigars from Cuba”). I think the pre-punched hole in the cap gave us away.
I’ve been meaning to start carrying this Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose for a while now. It was a generous gift from @Angry Waiter last summer. He sent as a backup for my daughter Eleanor’s Nifebrite #71, which I greatly appreciate, because I now I can carry this one whenever I want, instead of just Eleanor’s birthday and other special occasions. I put a new lanyard on it back when it first arrived, and yesterday I gave the edge a little touch up and then dropped it into my pocket. Thanks again, Pete!

She seems in very good form Barrett. She tried phoning me at Christmas, but since I was in Lanzarote, it is probably fortunate that she wasn't connectedThanks, Jack. I hope Mrs. Shaw is doing well. I’m certain that she appreciates you keeping in touch.

Glad you found your specs JohnRemember folks your training platoon sargeant is always right.
I joined the Army at 16, many times I look back at that first year and realise how much I learnt and still use without thinking.
At the time it seem a lot of repetative pointless bull, well some of it was and some of it was good sound advice.
It was hammered into us all zips, all buttons on pockets must be done up at all times (even when empty),rucksacks (dont you dare say ruck) and pouches the same.
When we left a bivvy area, the training staff would do a sweep and find all sorts of lost stuff, then you where for it.
But it had a purpose, loose your magazine, loose your compass, loose your map (you never marked or folded so as not to give info away) and it could compromise your ability to carry on.
Since ive been using a trekking pole to get around and finding it hard to get into my pockets one handed I had stopped doing it on my outer pockets.
Today on a small walk around a church I lost my glasses in the grass as I didnt zip up my pocket.
I was allready struggling, but then I had to retrace my steps 2 times to find them,it was the equivilent of a 30/40 mile walk for me in my condition.
Lucky the village shop was close by so I bought a coffee and a sausage roll, they even put a seat out for me so I could get my breath back.
Then I carried on to the antique centre.
I hope you dont mind a little practical philosophy.

I know what you mean my friendRufus is Bob
Amir is Jeff
Jakey is Paul
Joe Fairbanks is Ken
Priester John is Vince
And so on…
If I would have known this kind of creative license was allowed when I joined the forum, I wouldn’t have chosen such a dull name like…my real daggum name.
