What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gave this viper the JonMcD JonMcD treatment. I think it looks better, it certainly feels better in hand. Also Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund i thought you particularly enjoy today’s dad joke as an avid gardener.

Those Waynorth lambs are things of beauty,I expect they are just as nice to use? 😍
Thank you Johnnythefox Johnnythefox !
Yes, it’s a joy to carry and a joy to use! The fit and finish is perfect and I appreciate having a half-stop.
And I love reading your posts every day, as you take us along on your adventures! Keep zipped and buttoned, though! Lost spectacles turned into good bit of exercise! I’m glad you rewarded yourself with coffee and a sausage sandwich! Sounds delicious!

I picked up an old schrade slimline trapper. It’s a little rough, but fine for a user. Neat pattern. Paired with another old well used schrade in the form of barlow.

I put fresh edges on both of them last night with a little dan’s arkansas tri stone. I got a couple of these as new old stock and have been playing around with one of them.

Remember folks your training platoon sargeant is always right.

I joined the Army at 16, many times I look back at that first year and realise how much I learnt and still use without thinking.

At the time it seem a lot of repetative pointless bull, well some of it was and some of it was good sound advice.

It was hammered into us all zips, all buttons on pockets must be done up at all times (even when empty),rucksacks (dont you dare say ruck) and pouches the same.

When we left a bivvy area, the training staff would do a sweep and find all sorts of lost stuff, then you where for it.

But it had a purpose, loose your magazine, loose your compass, loose your map (you never marked or folded so as not to give info away) and it could compromise your ability to carry on.

Since ive been using a trekking pole to get around and finding it hard to get into my pockets one handed I had stopped doing it on my outer pockets.

Today on a small walk around a church I lost my glasses in the grass as I didnt zip up my pocket.

I was allready struggling, but then I had to retrace my steps 2 times to find them,it was the equivilent of a 30/40 mile walk for me in my condition.

Lucky the village shop was close by so I bought a coffee and a sausage roll, they even put a seat out for me so I could get my breath back.

Then I carried on to the antique centre.

I hope you dont mind a little practical philosophy. 😁

The font of the S in that scripture throws you for a bit of a loop if you’re not accustomed to it.

The BF knife has been such a great carry piece it's time to give it some proper patina. Mrs. Hoovie found a recipe she wanted to try, a Chicken enchilada soup for this chilly day....

Order up!!!....

Had it on lime duty & helping with some garlic. The Old Hickory was taking on the larger cutting tasks while supervising the newbie 🤣
