Worse calamities have happened 😉!

Micarta Monday. Are we counting Richlite as micarta? It's pretty much just very high-quality paper micarta...

Thank you Bob! The podium placement was rewarded with chocolate torte, cut with the '23 BF knife. No pic, because I try not to take knife pics during family time (that might make knife-buying more difficult, must pic battles).

Thank you Patrick, it's the only three edit*three spring* I can ever see myself carrying but it's a good one. A fine companion, no dog though. I could tell from the way yours sits that there's a good boi!

Thanks Jon. I've noticed you seem to comment when I carry that Wayne Walker through tang... Come to the fixed side, Jon - we have knives! They cost less than comparably built slipjoints, and also come in burlap micarta ;) I always dig on your burlap Mustang, I've almost bought one twice and blamed it on you.
That one gives me the fizz every time. Don’t tempt me FC, I’m trying really hard not to venture far out into fixed or modern rabbit holes. I may not return!

Too cool for skool Mr P! ;)

Thank you Mr. Jack ! ☺️

Thought I should get a picture of our snow before it starts to leave today .

Harry

That's a lot of snow to melt Harry ! 🥶❄️
A really nice looking place with what looks like a very long drive to shovel ! 😲😍
A nice and fancy Shapleigh to boot.☺️

The freezing rain is supposed to end in the next hour or so.

I sure hope we don't get any of that ! 🥶

Good totes!

Thank you my friend.☺️

Keeping it classic today. Love this one.

Beautiful old Case. You can’t fake that kind of age/wear on a knife.

Those A.G. Russell Boxcar Jacks are really well made.

Mini-Monday in Mammoth with this gorgeous little "Pinched Peanut" from A.G. Russell Knives, probably the nicest 🥜 pattern I've ever handled😁

Good looking little knife, Chip. A.G. had a knack for finding manufacturers who could make great knives for him.

Yeah, I was kind of joking. I can’t recall seeing many, if any GECs there either. But one can hope.

I think last year I had more GECs in my pocket than I saw on the tables (and that’s not counting the ones in my backpack). 😁

Well, I had my trusty HHB in my pocket...

...but then a delightful package arrived from Yorkshire....

...and now I have these two beauties from Jack Black Jack Black in my pockets - it's a sheepsfoot from A. Wright (my first non-lamb from A. Wright), and a pen knife from Wright Bros. Sheffield (my first anything from Wright Bros)...

...so my collection of Wright-made knives is growing - two new-to-me knives, and one new-to-me brand. I need to learn more about Wright Bros.

Thanks again for your generosity, Jack! Even without the knives, this is a wonderful package. And I'm quite pleased with these knives. Thanks so much! (Dawn says thanks, too! We both already tore into the Maxon's, and we're looking forward to the Yorkshire stories.)

Very nice, Tyson, and well done, Jack.:thumbsup:

I am pretty sure that you and I each had more with us than were on all of the tables .

Mr Primble Primble
Thank you very much for the kind comments my friend .
The driveway is about 150 Feet with a Turn Around area there by the Basketball Goal . I have all the equipment for mounting on lawn tractors necessary to clean it off but last year I started with a Snow Removal Service because I just can not take the COLD anymore . Getting too OLD I guess .

I hope you don't too. I've seen it a lot worse, but there was eventually a layer of ice over everything. The power stayed on and I didn't go anywhere so it was fine. The only traffic on my road was the county snow plow/salt truck and then one pick-up at about 4 in the afternoon. Glad I didn't have to get out today.

A.G. had high standards. In his knife descriptions he would occasionally mention the trouble he had getting quality product. If you haven't seen it, this is an interesting article by A.G.

Thanks for the Schrade clip/sheep jack confirmation, Bart. :)
That info about your ball glove makes sense, too; "use it or lose it" doesn't really apply to ball gloves. I had my first glove from about 9 to 16, and used it a lot; I don't think it wore out, but it was really a kid's small glove. I got a new fielder's glove when I was 16 and used it all through high school, occasionally in college, and then in my 20s I started playing a lot of slo-pitch softball - 3 times a week many summers. I wore out my 2nd glove and a 3rd one doing that, and bought another one about 1985. By then I was down to playing only 10-12 games each summer, so that's still my regular glove. But I haven't played since 2017 because of cataracts, cataract surgery, COVID shut-downs, and the demise of my church-league team.

I’m envious of your adult leagues, Gary. The only playing I get is practicing with my son. Although he keeps me busy and we have a lot of fun doing it. He’s lucky I love baseball, and I’m lucky he loves baseball.

I have a 69 year old friend who plays softball every summer. He said the best hit you could have was a ground ball because everybody had a hard time bending over to field it 🤣

Thanks GT, it’s great to be back. I am enjoying trying to catch up on everything I missed (2 forum knives, yikes). Fine fleet of canoes! I have never explored that pattern, but now I have an itch to try it :)

These two on an icy Monday.

I'm glad it made it Tyson :) Let me know what you think of the tea, the guy in the Yorkshire shop swore it tasted just like toast and jam! :D Watch your teeth on those Yorkshire Mixtures! I had a girlfriend who lived near the factory, and you could smell the place for miles, at certain times of day! :D

By coincidence, I pulled one out for my Random Tuesday carry :)

Have a great day everyone

Very nice Tyson, two fine additions to your collection.
👏👏 to Jack for his generous gifts, setting the bar high with his thoughtfulness.👌
