What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I put a small lanyard on the knife Jack sent me.

I have also worked and oiled the scabbard and oiled the knife handle as well.

Now it goes in a little deeper but can be pulled out with ease.

Then I changed the one on my opinel for one a bit longer.

They are for practical purposes rather than decorative.

When you do a bit of work on a knife it becomes yours,if you see what I mean.

Hope you had a great time :)

Have a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday everyone :)

Thanks Jack, I think I am still full . Great carry today, aesthetically that might be my favorite Lambsfoot I’ve seen yet

Carrying red and white in support of the Kansas City Chiefs today, they have a tall task ahead of them.

Chew is better this morning. Might be able to smash a piece of sausage and try that. Anyway, there's not much on the plate (pun intended) today so, #525 will be plenty of knife for what I might run across while in my recliner.

Glad you're feeling a little better, Ed. Good luck with the sausage
Snap ring pliers! I'm not sure I've ever seen those before, that I can remember (still see circlips pliers fairly regularly) :) Nice to learn something new :D
I'm not sure I know the difference between a snap ring and a circlip. I know I've used the term interchangeably, and I bought these to remove the circlips holding the wrist pins (aka Gudgeon pin and piston pin) on my BMW. Bail removal was a happy additional use :)

Gardening day. Good day for a 301.

A Case of emergency so to speak. I reckon I won't have a Margarita today ;)

Baby it's cold outside ❄️

Holy cow! Where are you?
Glad I'm not there. I don't want to be anywhere my scotch freezes 🥶

Some folks lacked your bale removing abilities. I've seen a whole lot of ebony with deep scratches from people trying to remove the Bale. Some even chipped bone. I like the Bale, makes it stand out from other 15s
Oh, its not so much ability as having the right tool. I suspect if you search out the 15 thread, you'll see several with the bails removed without undue trauma. Thanks though, I always appreciate having my abilities...um...appreciated :D

The car is loaded and ready to go to the great state of Tennessee tomorrow. I need to go see if the trailer survived the cold. I got away with it last year, but it won't surprise me a bit if I have broken pipes 🤞I decided to make it a two day trip. Drive around 450 miles tomorrow, get a room, and then go the last 150 miles on Tuesday.
That way, if I do have plumbing problems, I'm there around noon and have several hours to deal with it. Plus I won't be tired. At this time of year if dirve it all in one day, there isn't much daylight left and I'd rather not be crawling around under the trailer in the dark. Its dark enough under there in the daylight

I'll try to check in from the cemetery. Y'all have a good week.
Case 18 ready to go as tomorrow's travel carry.

Kicking around the house with these three today😃
I bought this Boys Knife knowing that I was going to remove the bail and chain. I clamped one side of the bail in padded jaws of my bench vise, and grabbed the other side with pliers with the jaws taped up. Just pulled gently until there was enough room to slip the knife out. The bail went right back to its original dimensions and not a scratch on the bone. I like it very much!😍

Alaska, my friend, the other side of the globe as seen from your lovely Australia.
As a lifelong big game hunter and lover of open spaces it was my dream to live there. And then I got married!

I take it from the handle you're a big game hunter?

I moved to Missouri in 1984. I intended to stay for a couple of years, then move to the Rockies. Then a woman got involved. She's gone, but 40 years later I'm still here. Life is funny 🤪

Pocketing this 4" stockman that arrived in the mail yesterday. Stamped Robeson 432594 USA. I think these covers are called 'French ivory'?
Its in very good condition with nice blade action and looks unused to me. A small amount of shrinkage on the scales at the bolster being the only flaw I see, which is expected and not bothersome to me. Overall I'm quite pleased with this one.

A very attractive arrival

Others have given wise caution about potential Cell misbehaviour. For what It's worth most of the Cell gassing I've heard of has been on very old items (older than anybody here...) and not heard of the French Ivory version doing it at all- but of course I might be mistaken. Believe it was used on table ware at one time too.
