Yes, it’s a great pattern. Congrats on your “new” Henkles! Love the stag.
You’re probably right Jeff, especially the second one.Todd, owls don’t care what knife you’re totin.
They were talking about one of two things, maybe both~
“Let’s mate!”,
Or
“Todd has a lot of rodents here. Let’s eat!”
Still, you chose well.
Super choice Paul.
Thanks, Ken. Two of my favoritesWOWAmazing pair today, Paul!!!
Thanks, Todd.Super choice Paul.![]()
Happy New Year to you too, my friend.Happy new yearJohnDF
Owls are a simple and easy-going sort, but do you have any insight into what the blue jays in my front yard are going on about?Todd, owls don’t care what knife you’re totin.

I’d love to hear the stories that those knives could tell!!A couple of old Rodgers.

One evening on the trapline I was heading back to the shack on my snow machine, racing against a really heavy snow fall when I saw this big white blur coming down on me,just like that I was almost knocked out cold, when I got my witts about me I realized a big white snowy owl decided to remove my beaver hat from my head,my hat was okay but my goggles got the worst of his Tallons.Todd, owls don’t care what knife you’re totin.

Couple of high quality knives, Steve!
Thanks for the helpful info comparing some Buck lockbacks!Buck 424 lockback. A light, solid knife with basically a #501 blade for a lot less. 444, 484 same. Just no nail nics or swedges. I'll be glad when it warms up. Jack and Shingles doesn't care

Thanks for confirming the model name, José.Thanks Gary, yes that model is the Settler and one day you will find one.![]()
Thanks, Gary. I'm thinking now, as an additional prop, that I should have thrown a double 00 buckshot shell into the pic as well.![]()
Cherish the Churchill, Greg!!today's carry

You should definitely try a canoe example and report your reactions, Tom!Thanks GT, it’s great to be back. I am enjoying trying to catch up on everything I missed (2 forum knives, yikes). Fine fleet of canoes! I have never explored that pattern, but now I have an itch to try it
These two on an icy Monday.

And not just ANY double lamb day – striking handles on both of those lambsfoot knives, Paul!
I’m envious of your adult leagues, Gary. The only playing I get is practicing with my son. Although he keeps me busy and we have a lot of fun doing it. He’s lucky I love baseball, and I’m lucky he loves baseball.
Bart, the softball teams turned out to be the sources of some of my most meaningful "friend groups" for most of my adult life, especially when I was single and in grad school and the softball team provided a variety of year-round social opportunities.I have a 69 year old friend who plays softball every summer. He said the best hit you could have was a ground ball because everybody had a hard time bending over to field it![]()
That's a whale of a knife, José; one of my favorites of yours!
That's the truth!Very generous![]()

Your Catts caused me to go catatonic, Rob!A pair of old Cattaraugus jacks for Tuesday.![]()

What a pair, Bob; that old stag just stopped me in my tracks!Instead of watching the paint dry, I will watch the snow melt.
One for cleaning, one for cutting.

K'roos are killing it, Jeremy!Double Kroo day today.

Thank you, sir; you have impeccable taste! Two great looking and useful knives, GT.
Exemplary pair of knives, Jeff!I’ll for sure lay claim to Trapper Tuesday with Paul’s gifted Winchester Spey, but I was considering calling it Jigged Delrin Day, too. View attachment 2467844View attachment 2467843
Definitely fancy; congrats!Just got this stealth run 112 in magnacut, so I’ll be carrying this today and for a while. Seems pretty nice. Fit and finish is good, maybe not excellent, there are some gaps. One side of the rosewood is much lighter than the other side, which I like. But, it seems like maybe they were cut from the same piece of wood? I believe you can see grain continuity and a bit of light wood under the darker cover…is that how rosewood works, changing color like that, or maybe getting into the sapwood or something? In any case, I’m happy to have a fancy made in US 112

Superb pair, Steve!
I'll jump on your bandwagon, Jon!STEVE C HAS NO UGLY KNIVES.
I’m done.
Great to see your ebony Beer Scout again; IMHO that's one of your best looking knives!I think I have been absent since sometime in 2021. Just life and stuff got busy. I’ve been having a lot of fun catching up on old posts though, especially following stories here in the Traditional forum that play out over a couple of pages. Beautiful carries today Jack, especially enjoying those two fantastic shields!
Holy cow Mr. P!![]()
These for me today. And a question: I have a “like” button, can someone direct me to the “love” button I can’t seem to find on my own? “Like” just doesn’t quite go far enough for many of knives I am seeing.

Not a big fan of "back yard on ice", Mike!
The Possum Skinners like yours and SteveC's are splendid "improved muskrats"!
Thanks for confirming the model name, José.I wish I had as much confidence as you do in my ability to eventually find one.
Cherish the Churchill, Greg!!

Superior scout knife!
Thanks for your enthusiasm, John!
The humpback is a nice variation on the standard stockman.
And not just ANY double lamb day – striking handles on both of those lambsfoot knives, Paul!
Bart, the softball teams turned out to be the sources of some of my most meaningful "friend groups" for most of my adult life, especially when I was single and in grad school and the softball team provided a variety of year-round social opportunities.
Mike, I always played on the "regular" teams. Even when I was old enough for the 55+ league, I don't think I was good enough. Those senior leagues were full of hard-core players who were prime examples of "survival of the fittest"!
That's a whale of a knife, José; one of my favorites of yours!
