Thanks for checking up on him and letting us know he's okay - I've been a little bit worried.

Don’t focus on the knife in this picture today. The focus is the sunset from our family lake house. Life is full of sunsets … some painful … all beautiful in their own way. I had previously posted about my son’s wedding last weekend. It was a wonderful celebratory weekend with the entire family; it couldn’t have been better. Sadly, as my oldest brother and his wife were making their way back north, he suffered a massive coronary event at the hotel in Atlanta. He was rushed to the hospital, but it took 45-60 minutes to restore a pulse. He never regained consciousness. He passed peacefully with our entire family by his side on Wednesday.

As the eldest of 5 boys, he set the standard as a son/brother/father/papa/uncle/friend. He was universally kind and accepting. We are broken, but drawing strength from our family and friends and relishing all the memories we have.

Life is short and fleeting … enjoy each day and don’t sweat the small stuff.

From 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Rest in power my brother, my hero, my friend!
