I'm not fluent in dog body language or "eye looks", but to me that look suggests, "Put down the camera and start some serious belly scratching!"Taking a SAK with me today. I going to have lunch with two of my best friends. And their wire hair dachshund is also a best friend. I used to see him just about every day and loved taking him for walks when we lived next door to each other. He’s old now and is missing a few teeth. But he gets his puppy on when we visit. It going to be a good Wednesday. Found an old picture of Ozzie when he was a young....

Jeff, thanks for the stories about your grandpa's knife and about the background of the walnut on your lambsfoot! Thanks, David!
Thank you, GT!
Your knife is a classic pattern as far as I’m concerned. My first memories/awareness of knives are of Grandpa sharpening his Camillus Silver Sword Easy Open Jack, and patiently answering my stream of questions.
Regarding the figured walnut on my TEW, it’s a piece of scrap off of an exhibition grade gun stock picked up off the floor at what used to be possibly the finest custom gun stock mill in the country ~ Bishop’s in Warsaw, Mo.
Many thousands of ‘03 Springfields, and other GI bringbacks were sporterized using fancy walnut Bishop’s stocks, I guess the company’s fortunes faded as the supply of those guns dried up.
It’s great that you get to do that, and I’m sure he likes spending time with his Grandson.
I have been spending a lot of time, and the required driving time, with my 90 yr old Dad. He’s been in the hospital since the Sunday before Easter. Went in with what turned out to be covid, and that kicked off a dementia like state. My daughter in law who is the head of occupational therapy at a large therapy hospital, told me “it sounds like Metabolic Encephalopathy” on his third day in the hospital. I even wrote it on the board in his room with a question mark. Now, almost a month later, that is what they are talking about.
We are beginning the search for a facility that can take him, because he’s in no condition for Mom to have him back home.
We’ll be including the VA in the search, too.
I suppose I appreciate your spending time with your grandpa all the more because of that.
And back on topic, Swiss Army Knives are always in good taste![]()

Thanks Gary. The Coffin is a favorite of mine for it's form, fit and function.Unforgettable K'roo Coffin Jack, Bob!
That shield reminds me of an episode of the old Bob Newhart Show on TV in which Bob meets Dave Death in the elevator.
Bravo, Bob; almost halfway through the alphabet without breaking a sweat!

That one is an SFA 59 Whittler picked up at the Rendezvous. It is the first time GEC did jigged acrylic. they also did jigged acrylic recent run of 34’s.I don't think I've heard of jigged acrylic before, but that looks good!
Is that an Esquire?

Personally, I've never handled a bad Vic, or heard anybody really complain about them. I have five or six Alox Vics, and there's always one in my pocket, although they don't always get their picture taken. Then there are least four Classics, and a couple red handled ones around the house & in the vehicles. All mine have the same snap, and the QC is good on all of them. I have a couple Wengers too, and they're the same.Well, I've pretty much run the full spectrum of knives. Modern, antique, fixed blade, import etc.
and after all that, I keep coming back to good ol' Victorinox. I carry others because I have them, but mostly use the Vics and the Classics are so effective they could become preeminent.
BTW your Dad is brilliant, I think I'd like him.![]()
Another stellar lineup!

Hostas look like the hatching pods on Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.
That paracord thing hanging off my knife is mainly good for folding back the shackle when I go to close the blade.
Classics are so effective they could become preeminent.
Stellar stag on your vintage Cases, Rob! That canoe has me dreaming of The Land of Sky Blue Waters!

I don't use the black but use the white bone, i just don't cut extension cords and scrape the smoker grill with it, if you know what I mean.
I remember that HAMM'S BEER slogan from the 60's and 70's.... The Land of Sky Blue Waters ...
