Thanks pal, hope you're warming to that Lambsfoot :)

About to put it to work on an apple. The edge needed some work as it embarrassingly wouldn't cut open a bag of chips. :o I started working on it and found a piece of metal chipping out in the edge. I worked the edge down flat again got it sharp. I plan on putting it through its paces now. ;)

Gev - that Toothpick pattern is such a great knife. Who was the maker... I really like it!

Andi, its a Frank Buster/Celebrated/ Cutlery/Germany - Fight'n Rooster. Than you, Sir! Sitflyer copied the other pictures of it a few pages back.

That is a real sweet knife Gevonovich!

Thank you very much, sitflyer!

A dynamic duo indeed!

Thanks Jack. I am really loving this Duo. I may even stick with it for awhile

A little D2 and stag and some L6 and horn(halved by Duane), today

I really need to go on and do something similar with my Peasant. It's got the plastic orange handles, and I just don't like them. They feel flimsy. The same thing in G10 might be the ticket...... or some sweet horn like you have. :D

Sorry to hear about the chip Woodrow. Sadly, that Lambsfoot had a better than average Sheffield edge, or what passes for one these days, too. A bit of work though, and it'll take a good edge.

Lambs foot sliced through the seeds of the apple.... lookin good. :D

:D

I need one of them aitor casto knives now.. thanks! ;)

any links to a UK supplier?

ScruffUK is The Man With The Plan with regard to the Castors! :)

Thanks Jack. I am really loving this Duo. I may even stick with it for awhile

I've been finding it hard NOT to put the Castor in my pocket! :)

Not a problem Jack. The chip wasn't "there" when you sent it. It was cracked, but the metal was still there. It wasn't till I was sharpening it that it fell out. Kinda weird.

Thanks Woodrow, hope it'll be OK from here on in. Let me know if not, and I'll try and pick up another

Just slipped this Western barlow in my pocket after it arrived today in the mail. I'm really impressed with the quality of this knife. Its my first foray with the Western brand but won't be the last.

I've only been fondling it for an hour but can't find any thing wrong with it. Had a gritty pivot but that was rectified with a bath and some mineral oil. Has noticeable heft to it and first thing I noticed was how thick the bolsters were compared to my other similar vintage barlows. Its getting to the point where I have too many "favorite" knives to choose from.

I love the grooved bolster and nicely sunk pen blade.
