We were skunked for about an hour then caught six one after another (all panfish)…and saw some big lunkers cruise byHow was the bite?
I’m thinking along the same lines … I’m heading to Upstate NY tomorrow to get the lake house opened up for the summer. I’ll be carrying a couple of Canoes - a Case from the 1980’s and an A.G. Russell in awesome dark stag.Posting today from the shore of Little Lake Butte Des Mortes (I don't know French, but I'm guessing that translates to something like Hill of the Dead) in Menasha, WI. We'll be here for several days in some Vrbo rental my wife found so she can check out some local quilt shops. I'll be walking some trails along the lake and Fox River, and exploring downtown Menasha and adjacent Neenah, WI, home of the Neenah Foundry, famed (to me) for their manhole covers. The rental in which we're staying is a little old house with a weird floorplan and inexpensive structural elements (walls, floors, ceilings, woodwork, cabinets, windows, furniture), but it's very clean with good appliances, nice towels, excellent selection of "kitchen stuff" (silverware, dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc.) and fantastic location on the water.
As usual, I have a pair of Canoes of the Week (perfect for our surroundings).

Wow -- what a great find! Really neat to have found a knife like that from a student of William Scagel. Thanks for sharing the story!Madigan Monday, randomly picked up this ram's horn slipjoint by Richard Madigan at a show this weekend...turns out he was a student of William Scagel!
Beautiful simplicity.
Thanks Bob.Beautiful simplicity.![]()

Thankee Zach! I've been into fixed blades awhile now, long enough to really know what I'll use/carry. Horsewright comes highly recommended in that dep't. Also Wayne Walker of WW customs (good luck getting onto his books though)You've had quite the selection! Great pics btw.
I still love the coloring on your Horsewright
Whose the maker on the 4th pic down, the patina fixed blade with WW mark?
Thank you David! I was digging on your skinny/fat polished/jigged combo todayGood pairing!
