Thanks, John.Mighty fine looking Muskrat.![]()
As always! That post adds a lot of quality to the photo.![]()
It looks great! Thanks, Gary. I don't know what to call it, but I did do it myself. A rotary tool held in place until it smoked. Burned, sculpted, jigged... ???
Your Opinel with the feather is one to which all others are compared, Rob!...
Pigly wiggly ......... the three little pigs !I thought my No. 8 collection was hot .......... now I see it's not !
Love it !

Thanks for the info, Bob. That's a patina technique I haven't tried yet!You set the bar high for slim trappers Gary.
The patina I'd from making lemonade to go with some grey goose.![]()
Of course!
You're welcome, John. No charge!Thank you, GT.
I'm stealing those.![]()
I appreciate your experienced input; thanks for the info, Rob!Both of those are definitely red bone Canoes. The brown ones had no red at all, even if rubbed or pocket worn.
I think they mailed all of those mud brown ones to Kentucky, long ago.
Two fine ones you showed !![]()
You're welcome. That's the right tool for the job! Thank you for doing the experiment, though.

I look forward to seeing some of your blued knives, Paul, and how their patinas evolve. Thanks Gary, trial and error and I find myself liking it so I applied the process to a few others. It will still take a patina on top of the cold blue![]()

I remember that in my first match in the district tournament, I got pinned in the shortest time of any match in the tournament; the guy who destroyed me DID win the district championship in that weight class. (I also still had braces on my teeth at the time I was wrestling, so the insides of my lips were always "torn to shreds" by opponents using crossface moves. Thanks GT! Your wrestling experience had to be frustrating, that is one tall order to have an opponent with experience when you don’t. I remember my first practice in like 7th grade. Had no idea what I was doing lol. I was thrown all over the mat and got twisted into a pretzel.
I think I am going to put that sowbelly back in the drawer. I believe I have decided on my first user stockman, just need to make sure it is still in stock tomorrow.
Very cool! That's a lot of sports memories associated with a single knife! Thanks Gary, it's two sides of the same knife!!![]()
"JUST" he says ...Just a #87 today.

When I said “just”, I meant just one knife; I usually carry two."JUST" he says ...![]()

Your description reminds me of the way my dentist uses his drill!
