That is not easy. My Dad passed on May 9, and I am taking over Mom’s affairs. One of many widows who never did any of that stuff. She ran the house, Dad did all the financials.

At her request, I’ll have the Power of Attorney for both financial, and medical (for when that time comes). Right now, I’m jumping through hoops getting access to her accounts to keep her from bouncing checks.
Lawyer strongly suggested letting her grieve for at least a year before thinking of selling the house, which was a big relief for her. One thing at a time.
