What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

GEC Moose today, it covers a lot of bases, Micarta Monday, two blade Tuesday ect... 😉
I stopped by my parents place when I got off work just to check in & say hi. A friend of my dad just got through boiling a couple bushels of peanuts & gave him several qt bags of them. Naturally I wound up taking home a few, bc we all know you can't leave Mama's house without taking some kind of food with you. 🤣

Fresh, boiled peanuts are awesome. The knife is nice but the peanuts win.
Today is my 14th wedding anniversary. We took the week off, and normally we plan some week-long stay at the coast. But we were too worn out this year to figure out the logistics of all that, so we're 'staycationing' (or I've been calling it a 9-day weekend). It's been really fun so far! Yesterday we worked on building a workbench until it got too hot, then went to see Twisters (highly recommended to see on the big screen, much better than the original). Today will be more on the workbench before the heat, then we may go the winery where I proposed to her in the afternoon. It's been a great 14 years!

These two in the morning, will probably swap out the standard lamb for the HHB in the afternoon when I'm trying to be a little fancier.

Happy Anniversary. I hope it is a good week. Saw Twisters over the weekend. Like you said, big screen is needed
Garlic. That’s what you get when you fail to clip off the flower scapes.
My brother in law wants some.
Thanks, Rick!
Thanks
Ever been to a wedding where the band starts out with The Anniveesary Dance? All the married couples get out on the dance floor, and as the guy calls out the years, they have to sit down until the only couple left are the ones married the longest?
At a wedding last year, my parents won with 67 damned good years married. Hey~ when you’re 90, you deserve a round of applause, right?
Dad passed this May sadly, so they were eliminated from the competition at my nephew’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. And although there were a lot of folks older than us, there was only one couple at that wedding married longer than my wife and me with our 42 years of bliss. Really strange that such a young couple would almost win the Longest Married Contest!

Happy A to you and your lovely best girl, my friend!

Your boys knife looks great🤙
Jeff, I am sorry about your dad. 67 years is a mark that is rarely seen anymore. Congratulations to you and your wife on 42 years

Gracias. Dad lived an excellent life. We surely miss him, but no regrets.
You guys talking about boiled in oil goober peas ~ the only thing south about this place is being a bit south of the wide open Wisconsin border. But the wallymarts have canned boiled p’nuts if you’re brave enough. Not me. I liked the ones off a roadside table in Ga.

Sorry about the loss of your father. 67 years is awesome - my parents are at 61 come November.

And thank you!

Congrats on your anniversary Tyson.

Wife and I saw it last Saturday ... did you notice that H ngman is still NUTS!!!

I had a dentist appointment today where they had to do something rather aggressive. Wasn’t quite sure how I would feel so I decided not to go to work at all. Just taking care of a couple garden items today and not much else.

Any form of dentistry applied to my person is mandatory grounds for taking the rest of the day off. Hope your gardening goes well - that's a good looking knife to use for it.

Yeah I’m overdue for a cleaning. Ugh.
For some reason, I’m thinking of Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man.

Today's carry is a Katz stockman AUS 8 and amber bone. A bit weak in the walk and talk, but still very well put together.

Pictured with a bottle of sake produced in the US. So this is an American style knife produced in Japan with a Japanese style beverage produced in the US.
