Lovely burl !
Ruggedly handsome knives![]()
Bonus pic of the day
Surprise car repair! Luckily it's not much, it's just the rubber trim underneath the front bumper of Mrs. Hoovies car broke loose. Friendly reminder, those old large cardboard boxes can come in handy with making a clean spot to lay down on. I always have a few saved in the garage for such times.

The 2011 documentation, which, like the knife itself was a copy of the 1908 catalog entry, called it a "Woodsman". So I am stuck with calling it a "Woodsman".Swell center stockman. That blade combo on that frame looks great to my eyes. The jigged bone and shield are a perfect combo for that period recreation.

I think that lanyard must be offspring from your pickle knife ............ just think how much better a leather one would look with that bullet knife. You won't lose it though.![]()
[/URL]Thanks much, Greg.A couple of fine knives and nice picture compositions, my friend.
Classic pair there, Jim.
Outstanding looking fixed blade.I love the color of the vintage ivory micarta, would enjoy having a knife of my own with those covers one day.
Now that's some beautiful bone, classic Case, my friend.

I've been pocketing this 56 Birddog the past few days. I got it new back in the days when I was able to get a GEC on the dealers drop and then proceeded to accidentally drop it on the concrete basement floor within minutes of unpacking it from the tube. Dinged a bolster pretty good, sighed, and committed myself to making it a heavy user from day one.
Handsome and sturdy John DF slip in the pic, it also gets some heavy use.

I saw an old Schrade dealer’s catalog on either here or aapk. 124,294,94,194,293 ~ no matter how many blades or configuration, Schrade called them all Serpentine Jacks. When I say nice NF Serpentine Jack, it’s a solid complimentOil the joints, but don't forget to wipe the blades too.

I really admire Bill Howard’s skill at honoring a lot of classic patterns.
