After carrying and using Beni at work today, I continued the lambsfoot theme by pocketing Roper when I got home.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
Whether it’s the 34OT or a Case 18 pattern it’s pretty hard to beat that size of knife for something that’ll do almost everything you’d expect a pocket knife to do.
Glad you had time to stop by Jon. Hope the family is well.I haven’t been posting much lately…but the rotation hasn’t changed much in the last several weeks.
I carry one of these in a slip.

Have a great one!
They look scraggly and stressed out because you have a bad boy on the block the infamous and notorious bully, the stunning but equally belligerent bluejay.i used to put apple chunks for the squirrels to snatch then watch them tight rope across the top of the fence back to their tree where there nest and kids await.well I put a whole apple one day and enjoyed watching him struggle and rest and then struggle some more until my local bully Bluejay started diving and pecking the life out of his head.there wasn't a bird that came to visit me when he was perched above.Yes, same here.
Today I went back hoping to find either chipmunks or chickadees
The heat and humidity was oppressive and extreme.
My phone overheated and shut off at one point just from holding it for pictures.
No chipmunks in sight today however patience paid off and we got to see some birds in the end.
Some birds looked "scraggly" and rather stressed out. Some appeared to be "panting" if I can put it that way.
Other looked a little better but nothing like they do in the fall and winter.

Even though it’s changed ~ mansions instead of cabins, salt water rated cruisers instead of my 15’ fishing boat, since we sold my Grandparents lake house, I still miss the Lake.Just got back for an 80th birthday party for a friend of mine. His cognitive abilities and energy level totally belie his age. His daughters rented a house on Lake of the Ozarks and had a barbeque. The crowd was scattered around pretty good, but I'd say 40+ people. I carried my Cadet.

I gave Jerry a Buck 55 in brass and ebony as a birthday gift:

I don’t keep bees, but I plant lots of stuff that brings them, and all the other pollinators, and assorted Good Bugs.Recently arrived harness jack for today. I was surprised to find one for non-scalper prices. I'm thoroughly impressed with it. So I've decided to take some fun pics with it for y'all.
(Some of y'all might remember me talking about how mellow our bee's are, well here's an example)
The bees are "bearding" outside the hive. Pretty much they are getting too hot inside so they come out to cool the hive down. Some even stand at the entrance in rows & fan their wings to circulate air throughout the hive to help. It's normal behavior.

Love the triple-rattailed Lockwood Bros!
Wonderful wildflowers photo!
Thanks for the info, Chris. This is the 47! I must admit, it's my favorite stockman by far. It's just "perfect", IMO. Size, bolsters, bone, steel, snap... Wouldn't change a thing!
For whatever reason (I can't make sense of it) in the smaller stockmans, I prefer the squared bolster 32s over the rounded 16s.If I remember correctly, the clip blades were slightly different on the 16s which I didn't care for. Regardless, nothing beats the 47s.

Impressive! Thanks. I've never seen it before at all. I'll have a look at those stamp charts.
{Late 1920s!]
So you haven't tried it either!I have often wondered how well it actually works as a can opener.
I'd be willing to sacrifice the entire beet crop to the rabbits if it would keep the rabbits away from the rest of the produce.Might be worth a try. My beets and brussels sprouts seem to be the hot menu item for rabbits this year.
Sublime knife, Will! One of my favourites escaped its hiding-hole today plus it's Two Blade Tuesday as well

That "boot wear" is crazy!
I remember that background; it was a good one!...
Thank you Johnny. That background is an antique bench that sits under a picture window in my house .... seven feet long. My old favorite background was an old grey saw-cut oak board, but, I sawed it up and made a bird house out of it back in 2020 when they made us believe are remaining days were numbered.![]()
Nice photo of a trio of natural materials, Tyson!
Cool knives, Bart, and amazing photos of country that's totally foreign to a flatlander like me!I had these two with me today on a hike.![]()

A couple more photos from the hike. Walked up to High camp at Palisades, site of 1960 Winter Olympics and took the gondola down.

Two Jacks ‘n a SAK.
Have a great day.
Thanks for sharing an update, Dan!Well, after taking a hiatus I figured I’d post today. I’m still dealing with an irregular heart beat and went in for my second Cardio Version last Friday. Didn’t work so now try again with a different and stronger medication and retest in a few weeks. In the meantime another foggy day here in the City by the Bay! Keeping me company a Alger’s lamb and my Bullet End Barlow. Have a great day folks!

Congrats on your handsome Bullet End Jack, Harry!Yesterday I worked outside all day so today I am resting inside most of the day and had this one in my pocket , as I have most days .
...
Then the mail came and I drove our Gator out to the mail box to get this one . GEC calls it a Bullet End Barlow . I call it a Bullet End Jack . After CE & CF it a lot , I have to say that they did a great job on it . The inlay of the Bullet Shield is superb . Just as they did on the 2 Remingtons that they made in the last few years . Centering , flush springs , no Burrs on the bone , bone saw cut grooves depth , sharpness , smooth fit in the hand , color match side to side . Just overall a pretty good knife .
...
Now I have both in my pockets .

That's my favorite era of Böker Barlow, Rob!Got the yard cut and trimmed and some other outdoor work done before the rain showed up. Crab grass showed up in a hurry last week. I picked up my old saw-cut bone Boker Barlow as I was going out the door. Ended up with a nice nap with Elijah J. the Mainecoonwhile the rain was pattering down.

It's on Jeff's Beerbelly Stockman.Cool mini-trapper! I have to ask, GT, what happened to the cap-lifter?
Thanks, Jeff.Jeff did a great job. That one has a very useful set of blades![]()
Cool BSK!Been sick with covid the last few days. Symptoms finally starting to let up. This one has been with me on my round trips from the bed to the couch to my computer chair and back to bed again. I hope everyone has been having a good week!

I often skip mowing because the honeybees are working the clover blooming in my grass.
I know bees only sting when they fear being crushed, so move stow and steady there, Zach. After the photo, do you just move your hand closer and let them get off, or do you blow, or gently brush them off?
Or does the panic well up from your guts, and you shake your hand frantically?![]()
