What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I spent much of last Friday packing and Saturday traveling, and we're away from home for this week and next. The cottage we're renting has rather unreliable wifi, so I'm a few days behind in this thread. Here are some quotes from Friday and Saturday, mostly. We'll see if I have the time and technology to eventually catch up.

I think that's a handsome canoe! Stainless blades or carbon steel?
I bought one just like it last month. It was advertised as stainless, but the first time I used it produced some patina, which was a pleasant surprise to me.

Thanks. It looks stainless but it's actually T10 carbon steel. It's my first canoe.

Finally put some clothes on and puttered around the garden today. Fresh air and sun🤙
And I am going back to bed right now.

Schrade Walden Whittler in peachseed bone and Camillus 23 in Pyroxalin or Ivoroid ~ some kind of celluloid.
Wonderful pair of knives 👍 Hope you get to feeling better soon buddy. 🙏🤠

Splendid knife, Bob!
Is the sword in the shield a famous sword from history or myth?

Splendid "modern traditional", Bob! The "patterns" in the wood grain remind me of paisley.

I do hope you are taking some time to relax between posts.😁

Gary, I will explore the meaning of the sword with it's creator. The design and weight make it a comfortable carry.

Photos do not do the burl justice, which is quite nice. The straight edge drew me to possessing it.

Ahoy matey.

Hate to read this. Hope you shake it soon. It is in our house too. The wife has it. So far I have avoided it. Not sure how but Blessed so far. Caffeine and sunshine should help.

Turns out if you cut up a whole lot of stuff and get a huge stock pot full of salsa to can up, don’t just leave it simmering just because you got to not feeling good. And getting banned from the kitchen…
These sweet peppers will wait for the next try.
Banned from the kitchen! Hope you didn't ruin the pot. I once fell asleep while cooking something on the stove. By the time the smoke detector went off...I took one look at the pan threw it outside 😛
the yellow knife on the red peppers is a great pic :thumbsup:
