What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Clever background choice, Bob: classy crown lifter on the rocks!

A pair of Keen Kutters from the early 1940's for Friday. 😊
I got the pair in a trade a long time ago and they are always side by side in storage ........... so today they will be side by side in my pockets.

Rob, thanks for the high quality photos of high quality knives! An incredible pair of Keen Kutters!

Bed time on my side of the world, but hopefully toting this one soon. Pins are in and functioning well, scales attached awaiting finishing (whenever I have time free).

Looking forward to the final result, Jack!

That Diamond Edge scout knife is superb! What maker "owned" the DE brand for that knife?

Thanks Barrett, in the old days ;) I remember when this pattern sat for months on certain websites. I wouldnt expect that to happen these days with this pattern. They are hard to come by thats for sure:)
Awesome canoe, Paul!!
When I first joined BF in the summer of 2014, I "agonized" over whether to buy a GEC canoe, and if so, which one. I was most interested in the ebony and the rust red jigged bone models, both of which had been released on my birthday in 2012, and both of which were still available at dealers. Naturally, I dinked around too long and got neither!

I "think" I'll switch to me pre - end days (US) Old Timer 80T and 1930's to 1947 Camillus 4 line EO Jack, for the "week end".
(i r still unconvinced the first day of the week ("Sunday") belongs in the "weekEND".)

I might swap out the 8OT on Monday or Tuesday for the Robeson 622110.
Your EO Camillus is a champ, Steve!
Regarding weekends, I recently was amazed to learn that about half the world uses calendars that start the week on Monday and end on Sunday:
First Day of the Week

...

I had a mail call and swapped knives, so here's another pic.

That bottom knife has tons of appeal, FC! Possum Skinner, right?

Rainy day here so something in stainless seems appropriate

That's probably my favorite model of a medium stockman!

...

I also stopped by a local bakery for some treats tonight for us, well earned after a long week 😉

Hope y'all have a great weekend!
As a rule, I don't care much for full-size trappers, or 1-bladed knives, or clip blades. But Zach, a Case slimline trapper turned out to be an amazing knife for me! Yours is splendid!

Thanks! It's a full size Copperlock in Black Sycamore.
Thanks for the info, Zach. I still haven't figured out how to tell whether a photo of a Case copperlock "in isolation" is showing a mini version or the full size model. (Not having any idea of the size of your hands, seeing how your knife fit your palm didn't help me much.)

48 hours in on the latest variant.
Finally put some clothes on and puttered around the garden today. Fresh air and sun🤙
And I am going back to bed right now.

Schrade Walden Whittler in peachseed bone and Camillus 23 in Pyroxalin or Ivoroid ~ some kind of celluloid.
Hate to read this. Hope you shake it soon. It is in our house too. The wife has it. So far I have avoided it. Not sure how but Blessed so far. Caffeine and sunshine should help.
I hope COVID leaves you and yours alone soon, guys.
Jeff, you've had the bad fortune of sampling almost every variant, haven't you?

Thanks 5K! I'm not sure but I think in the ballpark of 50s-60s. I'll pull it back out tomorrow and check out the tang stamp 😊
Thanks for the info.

That's a bunch of beautiful bone!!

Thanks for the confirmation, Steve! I messed around online and found out that Neenah calls their "detectable warning plates".

The. Most. Epic. Quote. Ever.
I was amazed that BF software allowed me to post that all in one piece (and even more amazed that the wifi I'm using away from home let me post anything at all).

Thanks. It looks stainless but it's actually T10 carbon steel. It's my first canoe.
Thanks for the confirmation. Be careful about the canoe pattern; my experience is that it's VERY habit-forming!

Gary
I do hope you are taking some time to relax between posts.😁

Gary, I will explore the meaning of the sword with it's creator. The design and weight make it a comfortable carry.

Photos do not do the burl justice, which is quite nice. The straight edge drew me to possessing it.

Ahoy matey.
Bob, thanks for your concern, but I'm getting plenty of relaxing in! Spend a lot of time just sittin' on the deck of the bay (Cedarville Bay), watching' the ships roll in, then I watch them roll away again. Walked 40 miles last week, including a mile or two each day with the dog. Went to Sault Ste. Marie with my wife so she could visit some quilt and art stores while I served as dog-sitter (sad to discover the Soo Locks Park doesn't allow pets). Reading books, taking photos, learning some knots ...

321Bandaid 321Bandaid Provided me with this beautiful gift, arrived yesterday pocketed with glee today 😍

Congrats on the outstanding Case 6347, Will, and accolades to 321Bandaid 321Bandaid for his thoughtful generosity!
I bought myself one exactly like that for my 70th birthday and I'm very happy that I did.

That's a new one to me, GT, I like it!
Thanks, Jeff. I'm a big fan of the sowbelly stockman pattern, and I liked the idea of getting a knife with copper components. The liners are also copper.

Also natural born parnksters. 😇👍

Funny as heek when the fee-line puts a 8/10 or 9/10 ded mouse on its "hooman's" flipflop shod otherwise naked foot ... when said foot b - longs to a her "hooman" that loathes/detests/fears mouses. 😊

Amazing it is ... her "silently" screaches causing all k-9's inna mile to howl, and goes from -0- to 60 mph in a second flat or less. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cats is "cool people". 😁👍
You're entitled to your opinion about cats (no matter how zany it is 🤓).

Enjoying a cool fall day in the Northwoods, carrying a Otter Mercator in brass.

Very cool handle variation! My Black Cat might be my favorite lockback.

I think this the nicest Roselli product so far. The handle hump acts as a reminder, not a real guard and does not bother in use. Sheath is excellent, best Roselli sheath.
Roselli makes fine knives they say. Well, this one was almost sharp but not quite. It is not a true scandi grind but has a bevel that was steeper on one side. I worked quite a while to sharpen this. The sheath is fine, but has nothing to protect the stitching except a open plastic liner. I will take the sheath apart and add a leather lining to the seam.

Nah, only 3 or 4 times. Each one is milder than the previous bouts. Only body aches this time.
Maybe was exposed on my Costco run last Monday?

So far, my wife and daughter seem A-OK. Banning me from my usual cooking duties may have helped. Plus, Vik slept in her office Thursday and Friday night.

Miss my Sunday morning church music gig, but after today, I’ll be outside of the window of contagion.

I really think that spending Friday afternoon and all day yesterday baking in the sun ~ scooting through the garden on my butt weeding and collecting seeds ~ sweating gallons, and drinking well water from the hose helped to flush it out.

I just got this Cattaraugus Hunting Knife in and finished up getting it the way I like it, so I toted it on my walk this morning. I added my Carpenters Whittler to my pocket. 😊
I have a lot of information on Catt knives around the house, but, not much on the fixed blades. I get the feeling it was likely made in the 1940's or 1950's.
Regardless, I was happy to add it to my Catt collection.

Yesterday I missed out posting anything because I went on a trip with my grandson, son, and daughter-in-law. My grandson is all into trains right now and we took him to Versailles, where there is a railroad museum and passenger train rides. We took the ride in the air conditioned car, since the temps are back in the nineties again.

Pictured is the locomotive where we stopped on the 90 minute ride and an old trestle (no longer in service) , as well as some of the warehouses of the Wild Turkey Bourbon distillery. On the opposite side of the trestle, there is a bungee jumping station and we watched some of the dare devils jump off of it. 🙀🙈

Finally ............ my grandson showing me his new die-cast locomotive that I purchased for him in the gift shop. 😊

Love the knives -- especially the Catt hunting knife. Looks like a fantastic day with your grandson -- creating some great memories! :)👍

Staying on the homestead today. Carrying this A. Weight version of a single-blade Bunny Knife made as an SFO for a dealer in Eugene, Oregon. Nice solid knife.

Here is the two-blade version of a Bunny Knife made by A. Wright for the Eugene, Oregon dealer. Again, a solid knife.

Glad you are on the mend. We have not totally turned the corner. Getting there.

Looks like you guys had fun!
That old Catt hunter is gorgeous! What a find! Nice work on sprucing it up.👍

Thank you! There was a lot of variation in this release and I’m very happy with the one I received. 😁

I’ve been meaning to tell you, I bought this sauce you mentioned recently and it’s fantastic. It’s better than I thought it would be, I’ll have to try some other flavors as well. Thank you! 👍

The coloring is superb. Glad to hear you liked the sauce! Yes… mine is already gone and I need to restock 😆

Had the church knife for today. Hope everyone has a peaceful and relaxing Sunday/Sabbath.
