I love the Cocobolo version and the Hemlock is nice too. They have a classic old school look to them, even though they are new.   😍😍😍

I like that Cattaraugus Hunting Knife! I am told by someone who has more knowledge than me that it was actually made by Kinfolks. Lots of companies made knives for other companies. John

Thank you. Interesting info.😊

That electrician’s (I think) knife is awesome, as are the Barlows.

Thank you !😍

I can confirm that dye can and does wear away. As I carry most of my knives in slips, the insides can become stained matching the covers. It seems to happen more quickly with some knives than it does others. My red bone Case Trapper for example stained its leather slip rather quickly. I carried the knife loose in the pocket for about a year before recently moving it to the slip. So perhaps leather being so porous had something to with it.
Coming for a painter background, I can confidently tell you that dyes and pigments are different chemically . Dyes have little or no mineral solids. Dies are highly affected by ultraviolet light. The earth minerals in pigment tend to be much more permanent and color fast than analine dye. The benefit of dye is that it’s transparent and shows the texture of wood or bone. The Minerals in pigment tend to be opaque and therefore do not show off the qualities of the bone or wood. I hope that helps clarify.

Thanks guys. Much to my surprise pool shooting went fine. I feel much better than I did this morning

I suspect something like this is going on:

That reminds me of an escape and evasion exercise we did.

We were told we couldn’t move on the road, but we soon realised the Land Rovers X country tyres of the hunter force made a loud whine we could hear as it approached.

So we would be making progress on the road, the first person to hear the the tyres would shout car and we would all dive in a ditch or a hedge. 😂

I reversed my 74 from yesterday and it turned into a 47.

I cleaned and polished it,now the blade wont pinch open. 😁

If you can work out where I went today you win a fun size mars bar 🤭

I went past the Prime ministers country retreat at Chequers, through lovely rolling hills.

Encountered cows foraging in the woods (thats a first) and another lot of cows in the most bizzare behaviour ever gathered around a plinth all with there heads inwards trying to touch it like some kind of weird cult ritual.

Any cowboys on here can explain it? 🤔 😆

Those look like dairy cows. There’s no explaining what they might be up to 😁
