I carried this Black Plum #74 Mustang for the first time today. I bought this back when they came out, along with one in another cover material, but hadn’t carried either of them yet. I think I might prefer this pattern with the clip point (I think that’s called the Stallion?), but the low profile drop point is nice, too. I also thought the Black Plum jigged bone paired well with this (kind of wild) new coffin-shaped pocket slip in purple ghost leather.

Tonight we took the girls to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo. We go pretty much every year, and it’s always cool to see all the amazing carvings. Here’s a small sample of the hundreds of Jack-o-lanterns they have on display.

I think I may have only ever seen The Fly once (if that), but I thought the skill shown on this one was particularly impressive.

They’re all carved. I do think some of them use black paint for the darker parts of the designs, for better contrast.
