What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Harry, you have 2 treasures there.šŸ˜
Thank you so much Bob . I really don't look at them as Treasures . I think of them as just very good old knives that will get the jobs done . I would really like to know some of their history . They are some of my keepers . But the day is not far away that I will have to make some decisions .

I always wish I could put myself back into the original owner's life.

When the time comes, I hope you find an appreciative friend for them.

Wooden Wednesday carry, just a few seconds before the rain started falling (thankfully, been at least 60 days). Cocobolo is a good tonal match for Ironwood. I have some cool new knives and bits of Porch generosity to show you all, just as soon as I get a day to play with knives...
My stump disappeared while I was on vacation 😯 Strange, can't imagine who'd want my old stump, maybe the city hauled it off as it was on the easement between sidewalk and curb, but I kind of doubt that as KCMO is not known for "doing things". So, no more stump pictures. 😢

Just received my first Grohmann, folder. The Mini Russell Lockblade.

This has been on my list for some time and keeping an eye on and watching the stock of the U.K.s only supplier dwindling away, last week was the time, pew, pulled that trigger.

Came in yesterday and although my Faffers mitts couldn’t help themselves and she’s now ā€œseen some workā€ , this is it straight out the box along with a greatly appreciated real life Canadian 5cents piece thrown in!

Better than I’d come to expect from anything off some resemblance of a production line that isn’t GEC.
Sure there’s bits and bats that ain’t the best it could be and the hafting felt like it was cut short of completion but even that I can see the reasoning behind and it’s only because of my personal tastes that I spent a few hours just thinning out the covers and taking them down inline with the bolsters.
All in all I feel in no way shafted by this purchase, a feeling which feels all too common if I venture beyond GEC, which being said is why I’m also still totin the 81 City Stock, it’s just too damn nice.

Very useful review thank you, wonderful picture of an interesting and unusual lockback- well worth getting! I only have one of their fixed- Bird N Trout flat grind which is a strong favourite, its odd looks belie the very real ergonomics of the knife. It's my travelling fixed for pic-nics, food prep and the rare bit of fishing I get in.

One of GEC's better small knives: 25 from 2008. Same shield (it suits this pattern...) as the forthcoming Forum Knife will have but there the similarity vanishes..... Excuse the muck caught in the jigging :DSheepfoot is one of the best blades for this pattern after the rare Drop-Point version. Let the day be wonderful.
