Here are some old quotes from between Christmas and New Year's Day that I saved, but I've been shoveling too much snow this month to have time to respond to them. But today is too cold to go outside for long, so here we go!
Merry Christmas!

Good looking Barrel Knife!

What wood are your handles? I have a Barrel knife I love, but I wish its oak handles were a little darker, like yours.
Dan, do you ever worry about avian flu, sharing your mate with your bright yellow bird buddy?
Lots of commercial poultry operations in my area have had to destroy millions of chickens and turkeys recently.
Mellow day ~ the girls took me out to lunch, and let me lay around napping and generally acting slothlike. A good birthday.
Kind of strange though, because twelve years ago the doctors told me I had an incurable fatal disease. Mayo Clinic knew better. But that changes a person. Now I look at each day as some kind of sacred gift, and let the years take care of themselves. They do roll along.
...
Very belated Happy Birthday, Jeff!

That change you mention is something we should probably ALL adopt. We all have the incurable fatal disease of being alive - it's gonna kill all of us sooner or later!
Hasn't been a fun day overall. My wife was sick all night and still does not feel well. My granddaughters have the same thing. Plenty of puke to go around. I had MOHS surgery to remove a squamous cell carcinoma on my temple and now it's throbbing. Did have these beautiful knives with me throughout though. I also picked up a Schrade Old Timer/Uncle Henry display case this morning for a good price so the day wasn't a total washout.

I hope 2025 is starting out better for you and yours than 2024 ended up!

This has been my most carried, this year. Not sure what that says about me, or the knife. I have nicer, sharper, better equipped, but…I like it.

Plenty of knife attitudes and preferences are mysterious and hard to explain, at least for me!

View attachment 2745139A light, slim carry hanging out with me today, as the dust settles from the holiday.
Splendid Ram's Horn canoe, Lance!

I have one just like yours that's one of my favorite canoes.
The bright color of the bone handles dispels the fog pretty well, Mike!

Superb Böker Beer Barrel Stockman!

I'm carrying this 2001 SS Amber jigged bone Sowbelly today. It's my Christmas present to myself but only arrived yesterday - danged USPS. It's really very nice with only minor blade rub on the Sheepfoot blade and light handling marks. Pretty good for a 23-year old knife. Sausage and ????? for breakfast.

Another fine sowbelly stockman, ED!

Keeping it super simple today. While the Cadet is almost always with me rarely does it get solo carry time.

Blue Cadet looks awesome with some pocket wear!

That knife’ll preach right there!!!
Cross over coffin is gospel truth!

That's a fancy one, Lance!

Rainy and dreary evening here in the hills of Missouri. I am carrying my dad's on Imperial Ireland fish knif sans scales for today.

Carrying Ellie’s knife and Elliot today.

That photo got me curious: is Elliot named after Ellie, or are they both named after a famous relative, or no connection??
