I set out to grow a ponytail many years ago. It got about as long as it is now and I threw in the towel and got it cut :D

Just out of curiosity, did you donate the ponytail? I have a friend who grows one and then has it cut off and donates it to some place that makes wigs for cancer patients. Or he did in the past, I don't know if he's still doing that or not.

When I got out of the Marine Corps in 1970, I swore that no-one would ever tell me to get a haircut or shave, ever again. I can't count how many times I tried to grow my hair long, but as soon as it started growing over my ears, I just couldn't stand it, and headed for the barber. Same with a beard. If I'd get over three days growth, it bugged the hell out of me, I and shaved it off.

Now I have a set of Wahl clippers & every two weeks, I attach a #3 spacer to it, and give myself a haircut.:)

Thanks Mike what was left of the ponytail thin and gray so it was swept up with the rest of the hair.

Ha! Same for this jarhead 'cept I am a bit lazy and use #2 about every 3-4 weeks.
