Yes, they are a beautiful fish and a coveted catch. The WVDNR stocks them at a rate of ten Rainbows to one Golden Rainbow. I haven’t noticed any difference in taste between the two. They do have a pretty interesting history. The Goldens were developed in WV hatcheries in the middle ‘50s and first widely stocked in 1963 which was WV’s 100th anniversary. They are sometimes called Centennial Trout.
