What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Long Friday. I like that.
So I said to my church band, "You know what they call Good Friday in Finland?"
They liked it too.

Thanks, David😉
Many thanks, it's interesting to see how languages render the day of the crucifixion. Here we have 2 official languages Finnish & Swedish and both use the 'Long Friday' pitkäperjantai and långfredag to emphasise the darkness and length of that day. Our neighbour Russia, renders it literally as Passion Friday, passion as emotion or anguish rather than physical desire, the Orthodox of course celebrate the day on a different date from the West as they use the older Julian calendar. The German word is Karfreitag which uses an old and archaic word from German I believe, and literally means grief or Mourning Friday, again to underline the anguish of the Saviour .

We just walked in the door from another WV trout fishing trip. We did better this time than last time. We caught Rainbows, Golden Rainbows, and Brook Trout as well as a few Largemouth Bass; plus, we lost some really nice trout. We also saw some Bald Eagles. All in all, it was a pretty good trip! We hope you all have a Blessed Easter Sunday!

The tackle box has some great looking, multi species lures. First time hearing of or seeing golden rainbows. Beautiful fish. Any difference in taste from regular rainbow?
Looks like it was a fun trip

Happy Easter, everyone! Kristus je vstal!

Happy Easter!
Thunderboomers woke me up a couple of times last night ⛈️ 56*F and not raining at the moment. I looked at the rain gage from inside the house a little while ago and I think it had 2.25" (5.7cm) in it. Risk of severe storms later this afternoon. Its not good weather for outdoor Easter activities :(
Fortunately, I have no plans to go anywhere or do anything :D

Y'all have a good one ⛪✝️🐰

Yes, they are a beautiful fish and a coveted catch. The WVDNR stocks them at a rate of ten Rainbows to one Golden Rainbow. I haven’t noticed any difference in taste between the two. They do have a pretty interesting history. The Goldens were developed in WV hatcheries in the middle ‘50s and first widely stocked in 1963 which was WV’s 100th anniversary. They are sometimes called Centennial Trout.

Considering the day, "brite" and "festive" seem in to be in order. 🤔

Looks like a great fishing trip. You always remember the ones you lose more than the ones you catch! Did you pan fry any of those delicious trout?
You’re right! I still remember some of the fish I lost back when I was a kid! 😪😂 No, we didn’t fry any of these; I filleted them and gave them to the neighbors. They really enjoy eating them.
