🤣
My money was on the cat all the way. He doesn't look like someone to mess with 😅

Thank you for the kind wish. I can't say things are going well, but things are happening and some progress has been made. I've been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The idiopathic part just means the cause is unknown. Its progressive and there is no cure. I started on a drug two weeks ago which will hopefully slow the progression. I'm seeing a rheumatologist who is investigating a possible auto-immune connection. If a cause can be determined, it may be treatable. The fibrosis has apparently been going on for some time now. My bout with pneumonia last fall caused an acute exacerbation where it got a lot worse all at once. At this point, the best outcome is the drug will slow the progression down enough that I will live long enough for something else to kill me 😜 Something gets us all eventually ;)
Regardless, I've got a few years left 🥳 🤞
In one of life's little ironies this is a lung disease that wasn't caused by my past history of smoking.

Probably more than you wanted to know :)

To avoid further thread hijack. today's carry thus far:

Well Mike that's no good
Hope it doesn't slow you down to much 🙂

I had this Case Trapper at the lake with me this morning; kept ten eaters.

Nice catch! Its hard to beat a mess of clean crappie. We don't get many Black's where I'm at. It's an 80/20 ratio. When I do get on them it's when they show up really close to the banks during spawn.

The whites average 10 to 14in. I mostly troll for them since bass minnows went to 2.50. We were spending 50+ for a day trip.

Mostly all we catch are blacks here, and I catch 90 percent of them flat line trolling after the spawn when they come off the bank and suspend in open water. These were all small today 9” to 10 1/2” but good eating size to me. I’ll be frying them tomorrow afternoon.

Breaking these out for Sunday. Sundays are for nice things ... Diamond & Pearl ...
The diamond was my stepdads and he had inherited it from his dad. It's an antique 19th century old mine cut 1.03Ct diamond. Likely from Brazil ... where most diamonds came from before diamond mining in Africa. So it's not a "blood diamond". My stepdad, who was born in 1899, said his dad, who was a probate judge, had won the diamond from a riverboat captain in a card game. So I'm at least the 4th person to wear the diamond. It's seen a few Sundays, since even before Schatt & Morgan were File & Wire testing. Unfortunately maybe, my stepdad had the diamond placed in the current 14k mount, in the early 1940's. The genuine mother of pearl Schatt & Morgan Jack is from 2001.
