I tend to roll my eyes at some of the modded-up handgun/tactical gun pics with knives, but there is something very aesthetically pleasing about a bolt action rifle with a wood grain stock, and a Buck folder. Probably a lot of nostalgia mixed in, but I think that I can smell this picture as well.

Yes, it is. Back in the 90s, Guitar Center used to have a huge Memorial Day sale. If you were already a customer, you'd get The List in the mail. It was a xeroxed copy of a typed list of everything they were clearing out. You had to line up at the door at 6:00 am, and show the List to get in. They had a stack of Martin Backpackers ~ the nylon string version, for $99.

Taking a five day trip to Georgia, and this will be perfect to bring along. I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm going to string it with light gauge steel, keep it detuned a 1/2 or full step, and just play slide on it. What else is there to do in a hotel room?

Do you play? They are a bit awkward unless you put a strap on it.

I decided to try forcing a patina on this to help even out to blotchiness of the natural patina. I let the blade soak in apple cider vinegar for one hour, then very lightly rubbed a mixture of oil and flitz on it.

I can stand up straight and laugh which is good, but sneezing is scary and putting on shoes and socks is still a challenge.
