Yep, you can still get milk in glass bottles.
It's even better when the cashier at the grocery store asks
"Why does your milk say it needs shaking?"... These young-uns know nothing about the cream on top!

That takes me back at least 55 years, Zach!

I grew up on a dairy farm, and my dad brought a bucket of milk straight from the bulk milk tank (unpasteurized, unhomogenized) up to the house every morning to be poured into half-gallon Ball jars and put in the fridge. A common question at almost every meal, from one family member to whoever got a bottle of milk out of the fridge was, "Did you shake it?"
That vintage Case Barlow is awesome, David!

Notable pair, Paul!

Sweet slim line trapper!

Meanwhile, back on the topic of pocket knives we are currently carrying, this Case single blade sowbelly has been in my pocket today, a gift from
@Modoc ED , Part of the Carhartt series, it has G10 covers and "as ground" Tru-Sharp blades.
A gift from Ed, a 112 in ebony and S30V. One of my all time favorite combinations. (as usual, my knife photography does not do justice to the knife.)
Congrats on the superb gifts, and accolades to ED for his characteristic generosity!

I’m carrying this delrin Case today. We’re headed to the A’s game tonight. The Angels are in town and my son is a huge fan.
It’s pretty awesome to have Major League Baseball ten minutes from the house now.
I can imagine having MLB so close is a treat!

You're close to where the As are playing "home games" this season?
Thanks kindly Gary.
Yes, Hephzibah, GA
Will try to get back into the flow of the forum soon.
Be well.
You should fit right in in Georgia, Bob, since they have lots of pine trees (but I don't know if they have "barrens").

Will you be as close to a coast as you are in NJ?
Thanks! It's been fun working my way through them.
Did you post them randomly, or was there a pattern I didn't notice (alphabetical by country or maker, geographically, chronologically, ...)?
Brilliant blues!

That Case toothpick looks like it might be a rare one.
Cheap lil
Providence Cut Co to help tie up some sad tomatoes. They’ll be happier tomorrow after the rain
Very cool, Tim!

I hardly ever see Providence knives here. I have a fish knife I picked up at an antique store several years ago that seemed unused (but I got a patina on it right away).
Pocket knife collecting is 90% shopping around. The other half is luck.
Jim, I wonder if you had the same math teacher that Yogi Berra had. He allegedly once described baseball with the remark, "Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical."

I will optimistically consider creative and strange to be high praise, Gary.
I knew that Mike
@mbkr meant he'd lost and happened upon his flashlight, but was just trying to creatively conjure up a lil joke.
I'll do better next time.
Yeah, I wrote that in admiration, Jeff!

(I thought the funniest story was the one about the camping wife getting hit on.

)
That crossed my mind, but
sometimes its hard to tell on the interwebs
I know what you mean, Mike. I'm not a very subtle guy, so I think a lot of stuff goes right over my head.

My Ebony French Chopper arrived yesterday. Its going to have a fun summer on the farm. A big thanks to
Will Power
for introducing me to these beauties!
Congrats on the splendid new knife! That big sheepsfoot looks all-business!

I decided to try forcing a patina on this to help even out the blotchiness of the natural patina. I let the blade soak in apple cider vinegar for one hour, then very lightly rubbed a mixture of oil and flitz on it.
Nice job, Patrick!

I scrolled back a ways to see a "before" photo, and I think the more uniform patina you produced looks much better!
A warm and beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! My son is coming by later to help me install a dehumidifier in my gun safe and put a new battery in my BMW R-9.
Almost ready to get back on the scoot. Keeping me company a lamb and a Barlow. Have a great day folks!

...
Dan, I don't know anything about motorcycles, but back in 1973-74 I shared an apartment with a guy who had a mid-60s Honda SuperHawk. (He loved that thing, and in the winter he tore it apart and it was stored all over the apartment: wheels/tires behind the couch, the frame under his bed, his dresser drawers were full of pieces of the engine,...) He had cycle magazines laying around all the time, and longed for a BMW, though.
Thanks Jeff. I’m a fan too, especially yellow delrin.
I can stand up straight and laugh which is good, but sneezing is scary and putting on shoes and socks is still a challenge.
Thanks Gary!
Bart, maybe you could bond more with your livestock if you just went barefoot, like they do!
...
Thank you both, Gary and Harry. Been lurking for a couple of months, and thought I ought to jump in sooner or later.
Cory, your daughter in the avatar must be about ready to get a drivers license soon! Is she still interested in knives?
My bikes on 98,800 miles now.
Congrats on almost 100K miles, John!

Your bike looks practically NOS to me!
How many sets of tires have you gone thru in 100K miles?
Outstanding pair!

Cool melon tester!
