I can assure you brother jim that this camping trip did not take place in canada for the simple reason that unlike Americans we do not take cans of paint camping, also at a very young age we are taught not to open paint cans with a pocket knife.

HA 🤣 ... Of course it wasn’t in Canada.
Americans bring paint to a camping trip, Canadians bring common sense ;)
So maybe it was a can of beans or a can of chili instead of paint.
Or maybe it was a renovation retreat rather than a camping trip.
Could have been campfire chaos or literary finesse. Dunno
But mostly it was just a raw bad idea and a slightly doomed pocket knife. Shoot :(
The story did state ... Some say it doesn’t help you so much as tests you ... and s/he failed

Where in America have you been camping? I have been camping many many times over the last 55 years, coast to coast, and I have never seen a can of paint. This includes campsites that require payment and free campsites in the national forest that draws a lot of what I refer to as the Stockton ghetto.

Must have been camping in NYSHITTY.....😉

HA, 55 years of camping and still no paint cans? 🤔
I think you’ve been camping in the wrong places, my friend 😂

Or could be the “Stockton Ghetto” group might be where all the real camping happens ... complete with maybe paint cans, and maybe even a disco ball.
The possibilities with that crew are endless eh.
Kinda like Slab City down by Niland and the Salton Sea ... some say that's camping. Bunch of "artists" with paint there ... but not much else.

Honestly, I’ve been camping in lots of places across the U.S. too, and I’ve never seen a paint can either 🤷‍♂️ ... except at a host's cabin or in a Ranger's maintenance shed.
On camping trips, I rest from life's vexations and catch the threads of vanishing dreams. Paint can not required 😎

Reached in and pulled this one out this morning ... there's a story in there somewhere 🤔
Wait ... got it:
After a couple of years spent tucked away in a wooden toolbox,
BrotherJim's Zippo pocket knife finally saw the light again,
gleaming with stories untold as it caught the GE Refresh LED 60w HD Daylight.
And they all lived happily ever after. The end :)
Disclaimer: Imagination not required — a perfect fit, and a merciful relief, for those never blessed with one.
