I can assure you brother jim that this camping trip did not take place in canada for the simple reason that unlike Americans we do not take cans of paint camping, also at a very young age we are taught not to open paint cans with a pocket knife.
HA... Of course it wasn’t in Canada.
Americans bring paint to a camping trip, Canadians bring common sense
So maybe it was a can of beans or a can of chili instead of paint.
Or maybe it was a renovation retreat rather than a camping trip.
Could have been campfire chaos or literary finesse. Dunno
But mostly it was just a raw bad idea and a slightly doomed pocket knife. Shoot
The story did state ... Some say it doesn’t help you so much as tests you ... and s/he failed
Another day in the mid-90s. It's supposed to break tomorrow.

Must have been camping in NYSHITTY.....Where in America have you been camping? I have been camping many many times over the last 55 years, coast to coast, and I have never seen a can of paint. This includes campsites that require payment and free campsites in the national forest that draws a lot of what I refer to as the Stockton ghetto.
