What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

As usual, I'm carrying 2 Canoes of the Week.
One, a Top Ten Canoe for me, is a white smooth bone Rough Rider canoe immeasurably enhanced by scrimshaw related to summer vacations in the Les Cheneaux Islands (thanks, Rachel):

The other is an oriental Queen canoe with winterbottomish bone, single backspring, and 440C blades. It was a Christmas gift from my daughter last year.

I am not tying anything to the bail. I am not ruling it out but I doubt if I ever will. I have had a knife of some type in my pocket since 1971 and I have never had any trouble removing it from my pocket.

Modern folders included. I remove the pocket clip and carry at the bottom of my pocket like I always have. No trouble grabbing those either.

I still don’t really like the bail but I’m leaving it on because it doesn’t swing freely. I keep it folded up against the backsprings and it stays out of my way.

That's been my primary way of carrying for almost forever Rick Railsplitter Railsplitter . The only drawback is pocket lint and dust motes.

Yeah, I hate pocket lint getting lodged in the joints. About 15 years ago, I started turning my pockets inside out and going over them with a lint roller. Everything sticks to it. I do that after every other wash now and I wonder why I didn’t think of it 40 years sooner.
