What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Leaving for Tennessee in an hour or so. Its been thunderstorming here so I haven't been in a hurry to get gone. The storms seem to be pretty much over now. I'm only driving over to Indiana today. Tennessee tomorrow. I'll check in from the hotel tonight, but after that I'll be off the grid for a week unless I go up to the cemetery where I can get a cell signal...sometimes🤞

My favorite light duty travel companion...the Cadet! Surprise! :D

And yes, I'm a luddite that still vastly prefers a paper map 😏

The Cadet is always a good choice in my opinion. I too prefer a paper map over phone gps. A couple of years ago we took a different way down to see our kids in Brunswick Ga. We were in an area with no signal. I went to get the GA map out and realized it was in the other car. Unbelievable to me none of the gas stations had maps. We finally found our way. I always double check now before leaving..👍

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is an oriental Camillus Blac-Jaket muskrat that I found at Menard's 9 or 10 years ago:

Lambsfoot of the Week is Lambshark, the name I've given to a Chinese Schrade 19OT Landshark:

Been to town and back. We went early to beat the rain expected in a short bit - hate carrying in the groceries in the rain. Had this Sowbelly on me for the course of the adventure. It's a toss up for dinner (supper in some parts of the country) this evening.

Too bad you can’t get “Abby the Hoarder” to carry groceries into the house, instead of out of the house! 🤔😜😂

I can see a farmer using the main blade. And it needing to be re-sharpened a lot. Among other things, baling twine is a little abrasive.

I always grab the free official state maps from the racks at rest areas on the interstates. I have a huge binder full.

Tell the truth, now. There's a sturdy fixed blade knife wedged down next to the driver's seat,

Are you sure you want to wander around a cemetary this close to All Saints Hallow's Eve?
Only in the daytime, Jeff, only in the day 👻👹🎃

I actually have a shared corner with the cemetery 😱

Both front door pockets in my car are stuffed with maps. I do have an old Garmin that has come in handy when navigating through unfamiliar cities by myself. The problem with phones/gps units are their small size. I sometimes like to take less-than-direct routes. By the time you've zoomed out far enough to get some perspective and see if that road actually goes somewhere in the right direction, the names are so small as to be unreadable. Of course, I'm getting to the point where some of the print on maps is hard to read without a magnifier 🔍

Illinois distributes large print maps :D👍

Indiana no longer prints maps. Putzes 😒

Settled in the room, looking forward to the Tigers/Mariners game. Go Tigers! 🐯

P.S. Puppy pics ok with me, Jeff 👍👍
Just do a Johnnythefox Johnnythefox and throw in a knife pic now and then :D
