I have literally been carrying this copper Kershaw Culpepper since I got it a few weeks ago. I can’t totally explain why I like it so much, but I really do. Sharp, big, hefty. It’s definitely a budget banger IMO.

It also conveniently fits nicely in the handmade leather slip G2 was nice enough to include with the recent purchase of another barlow.

I got one with an order recently and it's nice! The weight is reassuring. I'm still not sure what to make of the detent lockup. What are your thoughts on that?

The pull is just “fine” for me. I wish it were just a tad stronger/crisper, but I find it acceptable enough that I’m not worried about accidentally closing it. I also prefer half stops, and I wish it had one. The action really kinda reminds me of my Benchmade Proper.

Thanks for that comparison.

I liked the looks of the Culpepper. Reminds me of the Queen 'Big Chief' daddy Barlow. A quick search on the big website shows the Culpepper available for less than I thought. (A vintage 'Big Chief' is way out of my price range.)
Presuming the BM Proper's and Culpepper's are consistent, I know the Culpepper's pull and action will be within the range I find "acceptable". I might "have" to get one.
