My heart skips a beat every time I see that knife, Jim! What a gem!
As far as I can think back through the cobwebs, I never knew anybody who bought a Simca. Until today.I hope nun of your stuff is missing.
I had a '65 Dodge A100 flat nose pickup towed from a shop in Nebraska to So Cal. by my landlord, after a main bearing went south, on our way to Michigan.
When I got it back the in dash AM/FM radio, along with the speakers (a birthday gift from landlord's daughter) and my new 50 inch High Lift jack were missing.
My landlord noticed the were gone. When he asked, they lied, claiming I had sold them to the shop. (I really didn't.)
(I traded that pickup for a '64 Simca 1000 soon after. The Dodge needed a different engine. Even with a 0.800 shim, that main still knocked. The Simca "only" needed a generator. (hard to find. Car was imported by Chrysler. The Chrysler parts department asked/exclaimed (quote) " WHAT THE F*CK IS A SIMCA?!?" (I told him "A French car brand thar Chrysler used to own and import.") Needless to say, they didn't have one. Neither did the parts houses or auto recyclers.
Having the thing rewound cost several hundred more than I had.
Due to the mounting, a GM/Ford/VW generator could not be used. I used a charger overnight, and portable battery booster, for long trips, and at night, until I traded it for a Honda CL450 motorcycle a previous owner "chopperized" with a Harley Hog rear wheel a fork that was 12 inches too long (yes. everywhere I rode it was "uphill") and short TT pipes without baffles or mufflers.
I bough a CB 360 fork at the Orange Show swap meet, and fixed the fork problem after the engine oil pump quit/retired.
I bought a CB500 twin engine to replace the seized 450 twin engine.
The 450 died just before income tax refund came in.![]()
I think he knows that.Amir Fleschwund , the puppy is so cute.
Fancy indeed
He knows it.I think he knows that.
He might be using it to get away with things.
