What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My dad passed away yesterday morning, quietly in his sleep, at the ripe old age of 95. He gave me this knife as a Christmas present, a long time ago; over 20 years. I’ll be carrying this knife for the next week, remembering 1,000 wonderful memories of him.

My condolences to you and your family. I remember today my father, who died a few years back, and my grandfather who I never met. It is the fathers day today. Their generations participated in the worst years of my country, the civil war and ww2.

Our neighbors who have summer property in and summer over in the Hallelujah Junction US 395 area South of us came back here yesterday with their mules to ride out the lower snow levels here than they have in the mountains at their place. That's good because it gives "Abby" the Hoarder something to do to stay out of mischief - watch the mules and bark. Crimson Bone SS 6347 Stockman in the pocket today. Breakfast sandwich with mayo, egg, sausage, and American cheese, on a English Muffin for breakfast.

I think 🤔 this Opinel No. 9 DIY Utility Knife is traditional enough but if anybody feels strongly about it in another way, let me know and I'll do something. Not saying what I'll do, but I'll do something :D

Anyway...it came in handy as a nut driver today. I let the battery in the old mower go dead. I may have killed it. It was an Everstart from Walmart dated 4/12 😲
Its been on borrowed time for about 9 years now :D

Also had a whisky bone peanut in my watch pocket and a Buck non-traditional clipped in my rfp. I don't normally carry more than two knives and usually only carry a traditional pocket knife. I don't know why I loaded up for bear to go in the back yard this afternoon 🤷‍♂️ Fortunately, no bears were encountered 🐻

I've been eyeing one of those Opinels.

Canoes of the Week are both from Case; I doubt if my rotation schedule comes up that way very often.
From my Top Ten list of canoes is this Case amber jigged bone CV model with the charming blade etch:

My other canoe is very similar with burnt amber jigged bone, stainless blades, and quad-lined bolsters:
