What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Happy Veteran’s Day to all who served. A grateful nation thanks you for your service and your family’s sacrifice. Your selfless service and dedication is much appreciated on this and every day!!

Today I am toting two very special knives that were a gift from one of our favorite BF Members!! Dan ( sf fanatic sf fanatic ) often posts his beautiful ‘Modoc Special’ … I now have two in my favorite pattern. A single- and three-blade sowbelly in yellow synthetic composite.

A simple thanks is not enough. Modoc ED Modoc ED is a one-of-a-kind generous soul and these knives will NEVER leave my collection. I’ve already put a note in my database so that my heirs know the significance these have. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.

A mostly cloudy day here in the City by the Bay☁️. Seems to be a harbinger of things to come as rain is forecast for the next few days. In the meantime keeping me company the usual lamb and my favorite Eureka Jack. Have a great day folks and on this Veterans Day take a moment and remember all those who have served 🗽🙏.

I don’t carry this knife a ton, but I like it quite a bit. Wasn’t sure how I would feel about “jigged titanium” but I have grown to enjoy it a fair bit. Helps that this has an excellent hand satin on the blade, which is my personal favorite finish for a traditional. And it’s a swayback, which is the pattern I have the most of in my collection. Hard to say it’s my favorite, because I think that’s secretly a stockman, but it’s at least second.

Headed to town in a bit for lunch at the Brass Rail Restaurant. I'm gonna have a rib-eye steak which I have to slice in very thin pieces in order to gum/chew it. To make the slicing doable, I'll use this SS Olive Green Bone Trapper to do it. Gonna wear my Navy hat - the same one in my Avatr as it'll get my chow compliments of the owner. All you Vets out there have a great day.

We've warmed up from 25F to 50F, but a strong gusty wind makes it feel about 35F.
No mail today and garbage pick-up is delayed one day due to the holiday. Speaking of which...

Happy Veterans Day to all vets. Thank you for your service usaflag.jpg
