What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've had these laying out the past 4-5 days and have been selecting one or two at random to carry each day.
Seeing how it is only 5 deg I'll be watching football and not venturing outside today. Also got a request from the wife to
help her make up a couple dozen empanadas.
Pocketed the stag handled Klaas and the bone Moore Maker today.

Yes, many French artisans do excellent work.
GEC deserves credit for producing very well-finished knives at a fair price (even if it is difficult to buy one at market price without significant intermediaries in the sales chain).
In the same category of companies as GEC in France, we have a few good cutlery makers, but many produce knives with poor finishes. You really have to choose carefully which cutlery maker to order from.
I agree, for the most part ;) Been usually very lucky with the factory made knives I have from France, some roughhouses for sure

My gripe about GEC is in connexion with their pin finish on certain knives, leaving one very sunk yet the others flush. This I regard as an aesthetic flaw and detracts from the knife. It's been 'explained' to me why this occurs but I remain unconvinced....Otherwise, they are usually desirable attractive knives , as we know and enjoy

For me, this is what the allure of Traditionals is all about. Form, function, aesthetics. Two very different knives that compliment each other, not surprising considering the guiding master hand behind them :) Beautiful pairing with deeply satisfying jigging.

I'm lucky enough to own this Lambfoot and its forerunner but alas not the City Stock, but if I did I'd get it into action

Not what I call Nice Stag but this year I have been able to find some Decent and Nice Stag . Lighting is not very good in the house today . Will Power Will Power most are made by Kissing Crane for NKCA .The bottom 2 were made by or for Schrade and Winchester . # 4 and #5 were made by Queen . # 5 has the best Popcorn Stag that I have ever seen to buy but pictures do not really show it off . #2 has a Pattern that I have never seen before .

Things get pretty boring around here at this time of the year .

Went out for Sunday lunch with my MSR stove and a back packer meal,oh the glamour. 🤣

I took my old 74 Stallion with me and recorded some videos.

They are highly recommended if you suffer with insomnia. 😆

Highlight was finding one Daisy in a vast area of nothing,it’s the small things.❤️

On the way back to my car I cut a sprig of holly as it’s the festive season,I trimmed the stalk and carried it back on my Savotta Finnish military rucksack.

It’s great to use things from your travels so I put it in a vintage medicine bottle I found in the woods near Rochdale (up north).

It rests on a coaster I got Granada/spain which has a pattern from the Alhambra.

Here’s the mumbling,forgetful,unscripted video I did on the 74. 🫣 🤣
