Solid rain yesterday and through the night. Several areas aroud us are flooded. We were going to go to town today but have put it off until tomorrow. We lost power yesterday and of course this old man didn't have the generator ready to go so we sat in the dark for 4-hours until the power came back on. This 2AB for carry today. Corned Beef Hash for breakfast.

Well Ed we got lucky we were on the side of the City that didn’t lose power yesterday. It was a total CLUSTER-F! All of the Waymo driverless taxis stalled at intersections and like after the Loma Prieta earthquake in 89 when the whole City was blacked out most of the cage monkeys weren’t smart enough to treat every intersection as a four way stop and as I rode my bike from the GG Bridge to my house it was frightening to say the least 🤬.

Supposed to give San Diego about 2 inches between Wed and Thurs. Calls have gone out to the local ark builders. San Diego Planning Dept apparently listened more to the Promotional department than to actual weather people when laying out the city. There are considerable sections of the city which do not fare well in wet weather.

Meanwhile,

Toting my Modoc Special on the last quiet night before several days of family gatherings. This is my KOTY and has hardly left the pocket since it was most generously sent by Modoc ED Modoc ED !! It’s the perfect knife for me. Thanks again Ed.

Merry Christmas all. Stay safe and warm and enjoy the season with family and friends!!

A friend passed away today after battling some health issues. He was a bit older than me, but I’ve known him since I was a young teenager. He and his father were instrumental over the years in helping to maintain a Boy Scout camp from behind the scenes in Northwestern, Illinois. I attended this camp many times in my life as a young kid and have a lot of fond memories of it. This knife went on multiple trips with me to that camp so I thought in memory of him I would toss it in my pocket when I got home from work today.

Sorry for your loss, but that’s a fitting tribute to your friend. I think many of us have found memories of Boy Scout camps and the camaraderie they fostered.
