Thanks for the compliments Jack and Tuck! Jack, that's a fine pair for today's carry. You inspired me to go out on the prowl for knives. I hit about 5 garages sales and came up empty but the journey was well worth it. It was a great day.

Got at Amazon, sold as a "Morris" electricians knife w/slitting blade, Morris also has the same w/hawkbill. I saw the replies in the other thread, and yes, it is not finely finished I've seen the same knives on searches sold under different brands. Chinese, stainless. Has a soft snap&a nail groove. I think I paid 12 dollars or so for it.

Good blade type for working rope&cordage, has a nice lanyard eye. Hand-filling, and the protruding portion of the blade at the ricasso actually works (whether or not it's a conscious addition) to support the index finger in use. I like work knives, but I'm browsing GEC's since I came to the blade forums, they're beautiful and I'm going to acquire one*.

Thank you sir, it was a very nice hike. Nothing better than hiking in the fall with the colors changing. That stump was cool, it was covered in six different kinds of mushrooms.

It's a Scagel medium hunter. Made by bark river for KSF I believe. A2 steel convexed to hair popping perfection. 5.5 inch blade, 10 in overall, .217 at the spine.
