Beautiful trio
Boffo knife drawer, Steve
Lovely greens, Bob.
Absolutely smashing carving!
The Staub “Cocotte” Dutch oven feels like lifting a Volkswagen auto onto the range, but is sure is marvelous for low and slow cooking. Thanks, Dave.
I like your green trapper/Dutch oven pair!
I had never heard of Staub cookware but just looked at a brief entry on Wikipedia. Weird coincidence that Staub was acquired by Zwilling J. A. Henckels, whose knives occasionally show up here. And I learned that your enamel-coated cocotte has little nubs inside the cover just like the plain old cast iron Dutch oven my wife has had for at least 45 years.

Thanks Dave.Lovely greens, Bob.

At first, I thought we had the same knife. Then I noticed that yours has a grommet in the lanyard hole. On mine this had a screw which attached a pocket clip. Then I noticed that the pins are located differently. An earlier model perhaps? I'm fairly sure mine came out of the last run before they were discontinued.

Thanks Jeff! Looks like a very well done book.Ted Greene. It's a photo in this book.View attachment 3135128
Very humbling, but useful book.

Like the lyric from The Band, "just take what you need and leave the rest..."

Good eye, Mike! Mine is one of the older models from the first run. It has no pocket clip and Mister Russell used a coil spring for the lockbar on this model. At first, I thought we had the same knife. Then I noticed that yours has a grommet in the lanyard hole. What is shown in the second pic? It looks like a coil spring tensioned, or course threaded, adjustment screw of some type. Mine looks nothing like that. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong
In any case its a very nice blade shape

Great story Rick!Good eye, Mike! Mine is one of the older models from the first run. It has no pocket clip and Mister Russell used a coil spring for the lockbar on this model.
When they released the pocket clip models I was kicking myself for not getting one of the original models that were already sold out. I met up with some friends from the forum and we had breakfast at Denny’s and then walked down to the knife show.
The Lockback Barlow was gifted to me at the breakfast table byWhetstone39 . We called it The Breakfast Barlow.
