What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I love these. Cool shields and great jigged bone.

I really need to search out some older schrade knives.
The stockman and now these. Very nice!
Nice of you to say ~ thanks!
The scales are delrin, but I like delrin. It won't crack when I drop it!

I see GEC just made a replica of the 804 Whittler called Gesepo. They do a nice job when paying tribute to classic patterns. I'm sure we'll be seeing some in this thread soon.

I've been informed by a good Finnish mate of mine that today's Finnish Language Day. He said I should carry something made in his country and fire up the grill so a bunch of us can get together for dinner.

He's got access to some really outstanding chocolate, so I'm not going to argue. Finnish Language Day it is.

I've had this new old stock Marttiini sitting in a box for a while. Love the size and design, hate the drawings on the blade. I think it's a good occasion to use it.

I don't pretend to speak Finnish. English, a smattering of Italian and French is about it.
Google, however, says Hyvää päivää! :) ;)

I dropped my "rosewood" 301 from about 3 feet onto concrete today 🫨 Dymalux is pretty tough stuff too. Other than a couple of small, almost unnoticeable, marks, and another small ding on the brass, it survived fine. I was glad it wasn't one of my bone handled knives 🫣

Chocolate bribery. A classic! Now you just need some flowers :D

Spectrum came by and connected me to fiber optic internet. Speed is supposed to be up to a half gig/second, but I'm using my old wifi router for the moment and its limited to 150 megs. I expect it will still be a lot faster than my DSL connection. We'll see 🧐

I mowed the lawn and about half the field so another productive day and its only 1:30 😁

Frog approved:

The Vic "Floral Knife" on the top. As produced (and in the picture I took when it was new), it's chisel ground, for making precisely placed cuts. But I put a primary bevel on both sides, to make my sharpening life simpler.
