Thanks, Gary. :thumbsup: The Camillus was a very much appreciated gift from paulhilborn paulhilborn along with an antique and equally nice Voos jack knife when I was still pretty new to the forum. Both were super sharp to boot and made me realize I had to work on my skills to try and reach Paul's level. Still not there yet but have made some improvements in my sharpening skills since. So many kind and thoughtful people to be found here on BF.
 
Going to a morel mushroom festival at the intersection of the Fox & Illinois Rivers in downtown Ottawa IL today with 5 of the grandkids and their parents. No mushroom hunting on the agenda just some pizza at a local restaurant. My brother and I did manage to find a 1/2 dozen last week in less than an hour of searching while a couple hundred miles south of here. That was
all the time we had to look one morning before working on moving our mom into a assisted living facility. The move only took
two days and she is thrilled with her new place. :)
Gonna carry the yellow bone Winchester moose today.

I went to my 50th HS reunion 7 years ago; it was weird, but fairly wonderful; I hadn't seen most of the people there since graduation night. I think it was the only "official" reunion our class had ever had; I certainly hadn't heard of any earlier ones. We had a pretty good turnout, although, like yours, it was mostly local people; I drove 60 miles each way to attend. I was surprised how many classmates had passed away in the intervening half-century.

Our 41st is a month from today, but I doubt if we'll catch up to you. 🤓 The pastor at my Dad's funeral in December mentioned that Dad had been proud that he'd been married 73 years (I think), but it had taken him 2 wives to do it.
Congrats to you and Duncan, too, on his major award!

I will need a slicy fixed blade to cut some beef today. I will not find a sharp knife in my Mom's kitchen!
Mom turns 89 tomorrow, so a few of us are going down to celebrate it with her. Out of four, only my sister and I are able to go, so the others will come another day to extend the festivities.

I just paid the first bill for Mom's Live-In Caregivers, and am pretty sure that an assisted living facility would be more affordable!

The marine layer is thick today here in the City by the Bay🌫️. Didn’t burn off at the house yesterday and don’t think it will today either. But that’s typical San Francisco summer weather. Keeping me company with a nod to Stag Saturday a TV beauty. Have a great weekend folks! 😀
