What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I promised Jared I'd be carrying it and by golly that's just what I'm a-gonna do! :p

Watch those pockets Elliott! ;) Great-looking knife (again!)

Nice Alex, that green bone looks great

Ohhhh my, Elliott, that one is so nice. I'd carry it too. In fact, it would likely kick the other ones out of the pocket for quite a while.

Good thing pants come with multiple pockets! ;)

Reading Jack's earlier post in another thread about "trousers" and your remark about "pants" brings to mind a quote that I used to hear regularly from one of my old partners on the job. He was a former Marine and Vietnam Vet and just a little bit crazy...but the guy you wanted going in the door with you when the chips were down.

Anyway, he used to regularly say: "Men wear trousers. Only sailors wear pants." (That was probably one of the only quotes of his I can use here. :p)

LOL! Sounds like a great guy Elliott! :D

Hah!

I had a pal in grade school who had just immigrated here from the UK, and he always laughed when we said "pants." He explained that it's a term reserved for underpants in Britain, while "trousers" go over one's "pants."
Funny quote, Elliott, I'm going to use it some time.

Jerry, that one looks really useful! Do you work on boats, by any chance?
(I'm asking because I do, and a knife like that is just the ticket!)

...although I'd call that more of a sheepsfoot than a wharncliffe, but hey, it's your knife, call it whatever you like! ;)

I do not work on boats. This knife was made by Big Chris. I just admired his work and saw a similar design so had him make this one up for me. But ya, he called the original one I saw his wharncliffe edc. I see what you're saying about the shape though. Wharn/sheep, all good. Slices just as nice :)

Happy to, it's an old Joseph Rogers pattern made by Graham Sparks, a South African maker and guild member. Beautifully made with Kare wood covers.

Looks fantastic my friend, very classy

Very classy indeed. Thanks for the details. I'm a sucker for a knife with a "pinchable" blade and that looks very pinchable to me and the wood is quite lovely

Two weeks of nonstop EDC for my scout...thought a picture was called for. I love this knife  It turns out I'm huge fan of sheepsfoot blades!
