What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Haven't carried this one in a while, but it's a great pattern. The only example I can think of where I'd say that I need more Congress in my life. :D

In what way?

Well it's an unusual pattern for me, and I don't think it's very ergonomic. When the clip is in use, the sheepsfoot sits too high in the hand. I'm not a big fan of the clip here, I think it's fairly lacklustre (not a patch on the Charlow clip for example). Also, I struggle to get this knife (both blades) very sharp. I much prefer the sheepsfoot blade on my Ablett Sheepsfoot (below), and in fact I prefer it in every way (no problem sharpening this one).

Thanks for your thoughts Jack, agreed, I really like that Sheepsfoot. A maker I've been tempted by many times!

Absolutely beautiful Kris.

Just my opinion :) Overall, I've been very impressed by the general quality of Trevor Ablett knives. I don't regard them as handmade, any more than I regard Case or GEC knives as handmade (well perhaps a bit more, certainly a lot more than the former), but they are put together by one old feller, who does most of the work himself, and does a pretty fair job.

Today I carry the Case Bose Damascus

Beautiful piece, Kris. I am in awe of your damascus collection. Having recently acquired my first damascus piece, I feel like I'm a member of a new club haha. Very nice stuff

Saltaire: That Case Muskrat is a beauty! :)

Kris: You have some great great knives with you this day! Wonderful pieces ...
