That is a beautiful LC Chris! I love the jigging and the richness of those covers.

I couldn't find my radio knife for about 16 hours on Sunday, and feared it was lost.

The spectre of its potential absence made my heart grow all the fonder upon its discovery (I'd squirreled it away real good for a trip last Thurs-Friday).

I continue to carry it 'most every day.

(Jack, I'm coming closer to knowing the use for the chain. I can tell. ;))

Those knives with black wood handles are just lovely. Simple, classic and clean.

I'm at home on this very rainy and wet afternoon, so I have my Opinel No. 8 and Case large stockman keeping me company.

Those crown royal bags are great for holding all sorts of things. I've got a few around here being used.
Don't think this one has been in a purple bag, but others certainly have

My Chambriard Le Compact, with stag scales, very keen knife, out of the fire and into the frying pan ;)

My next purchase will be a Le Thiers - either Le Compact or or the larger Le Compagnon. Le Compact is more in line with the size of knife I typically carry. But Le Compagnon, with its slim profile, doesn't seem all that large. Anyone have both - and a preference?

By the way - beautiful photo - you've convinced me to get the stag scales.

Thanks Andy, I own all three sizes of the Le Thiers by Chambriard, all in stag...of course, I enjoy all three sizes, but the Le Compact is pretty handy size expecially at work where it's tolerated a little more than the other two. Le Compagnon is quite a jump in size and Le Trappeur makes Le Compagnon seem like a small knife ;) but Le Trappeur has a mid lock and is overall larger handle size and blade width, about the same blade length as Le Compagnon, sure feels like a solid knife.

Now I had a curly birch scaled Le Compact that had a lot of side to side blade play, as it was still within the 5 years of it's making, they are dated at the end of the handle, Mr Chambriard VERY quickly took the knife back, fixed it lickity split and she was as good as new, even better! All three of the ones I have now do not have any blade play at all, but I'm not hammering on them hard, and being thin bladed, they slice very easily so that also helps lessen any extra force while in use.

Here's a shot of all three, I was carrying Le Compagon today;

And I'd also suggest checking this thread out for more info on Le Thiers by Chambriard
