What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice, Gary. Menefee and Erickson, I think, don't see you carry that Menefee very often.
Kris

Good eye, Kris. I don't carry the Menefee too much. I'm not sure why....

Super nice, Gary!! Any more shots of them open? No worries if you don't...the pruning blade on the knife on the left just looks interesting.
Here's another pic, Gev. This was a prototype from Rick. The color is truer in the first image.

I love this little Erickson SBG. Sharp as the dickens and just a pleasure to carry and use.

Doncha wish that would work, Sarah!

LOL! :D
Thanks Jack.

Ya gotta love multi-quote.:D

Nice Pete! What's the other small knife? I'm guessing it's either new or stainless, your knives usually have a pretty dark patina.

Thanks :) the other knife is a Case stainless steel #63, aka Eisenhower, I don't own many stainless knives, but I like the #63 pattern and have yet to acquire a carbon one, but have two stainless versions that I really like, a blue bone and the one above which is red stag.

Pete

The Wengers are usually less common than the Vics but on all the ones I've ever seen, the bail was fitted in the hollow rivet.

I don't know the history as it was purchased second hand. I thought I had seen one like it here. Now I'm not so sure. You have peaked my curiosity.

Looks like the previous owner got tired of the bail swinging up in the way of the blade when closing it and "fixed" it. I've got one with a bail that this happen on sometimes. The hollow rivet is pretty much pointless (and probably more expensive to manufacture) if the bail doesn't fit there. That hole doesn't look like a factory job either. Not saying it is not a great knife, just that it looks modified to me.

This sounds about right to me too.

Carried these two. Did NOT carry the pocket watches though. Just thought I'd spice up the photo a bit.

I love your stags! Beautiful photo!

Thanks Jon, she's a beaut, I let the middle sized one go and kept the large and small, which freed up funds for the GEC Viper in stag ;) it's a vicious cycle and as John Lee Hooker says "One of these days, things gonna change"
:)
