Just got this new Laconico...next to a Ken Erickson swayback for size comparison. This sucker is a beast. I'm going to put it to good use this weekend.

Today its my friction folder made by Mykulmorris. Probably my new permanent EDC. I really like it.

It's a suit and tie day today, the old ball and chain is taking me to some fancy undisclosed location for lunch and demanded I dress up. So this little fellow is coming with me. It's slowly starting to take on a nice patina (it was new in the pic).

Been out in the bass boat and the swamp buggy since Monday evening and every day after thus far this week fishing and shooting our dinners. Had my trusty old 25OT Folding Hunter--One of thee sharpest knives in the drawer.

Anthony, glad to see she's still with you. :)
(I'd recognize that old girl anywhere, by her patina and those chips in the main blade...)

I'm not quite ready to move this into EDC rotation with the change and keys, but I did use it to open some letters. Soon though...

Yep, thats the original photo from when she arrived here after you & I traded her for my Buck Knife to you. The old dear friend that I gave it to back when you and I traded finally passed the latter part of last year. His spouse was kind enough to pass it back on to me in his memory.

The patina on her is darker and more pronounced and the blades have a little less steel at the edge but are much sharper thanx to me!.

Best,
Anthony

How about putting it in a nice leather knife purse^H^H^H^H^H pouch to protect it?

I could never do that. I love the patina and worn scales a knife acquires when carried. You should see my KHnutbuster with its chipped scale. I fixed her up with superglue. She's no longer mint, but I love her even more now.

On Wednesday a slip from the Post-Office urged me to go and collect a package... Inside the package, a Böker Congress, carbon, with WONDERFUL dark red bone scales, real Claret colour. Fit and finish, stellar, can't find fault. It even has very macho snap and half stops. Two Sheepfoot, Pen and a Coping blade all vicious sharp, it also has the special 140 Jahre shield to commemorate Böker's founding in 1869. The quality of this knife and other recent Bökers has been an eye-opener. All this for 25USD plus shipping on the Bay.

Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that, Anthony. I know how difficult it can be to lose a close friend. Glad you have that as a keepsake.

This one has been seeing a LOT of pocket time lately, the blades look the same as in this older pic as I have been keeping it away from anything that will patina the blades. Nothing against patina but these blades are pretty nice looking and I figure there's no harm in a little shine for a little longer. I have paired it up with a nice modern stainless folder that does double duty as a food prep knife to keep the CV blades nice and shiny.
