What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice composition in that photo ots 15! I didn't realize there was a pocket worn redbone swayback gent. It looks very nice!

As the Sway Back Gent kind of perished in the above posted picture, here it is again. great little knife which was used today for cutting an onion into really thin slices and to cut some tulips which I brought home. No need today for using a larger blade.

Beautiful picture! Interesting looking knife. Do you have a picture that show is open. I am curious :)

Actually, yes:rolleyes: really love this knife. it's small, almost tiny for my big hands but completely functional. great snap, and I really like the stop at 90 degrees. It's my first Case, next one will be in CV, perhaps a Humpback Whittler. don't know yet. Had the Sway Back with me all day long and even now. just had to confirm this claim, because it's so unobtrusive. but yes, it's in my right front pocket. where it belongs.

This one has been in my pocket every day for the past two weeks straight and will be in my pocket as I go out of town this weekend.

texasflyfisher: the elegant lines of the blade and the warm colour of the linen micarta scales really make this Trapper outstanding.
And these OHTA knives fascinate me every time I see them.

Was finally able to get my Opinel no. 5 shaving again, so this will be in my right front pocket for a while.
Together with my SAK Alox Soldier in my left back pocket ;)

Just realized I don't have my traditional folder with me today. This is going to be a long day... :grumpy:

Great looking knife and pictures! Thanks.

Today it was this little knife together with the forged tool. The knife is an old German pattern with cork screw, bottle opener and champaign hook, thus its name. It's just as long as the Sway Back but a little sturdier and has a locking blade.

That knife is absolutely gorgeous!
Today I'm carrying this little fellow and a SAK:

Nice!

Working in the garden and bought a new gas weed trimmer.
Carrying my Queen stockman. That D2 just eats up anything I need cut, then asks for more.

went mountainbiking today which made me a little hungry (olives and noodles ain't pictured...).

It bugged me that i couldn't tell everyone what that folder missing from my pocket was. It's nice to work somewhere with nylon brushes and bore cleaner if you know where to look.

It's a Schrade USA 1080T. There is picture at this site but scroll down as it's number 250. (The page starts at #201.)

Mine isn't in as near as nice condition. I actually got to thinking and I believe I've carried this particular knife for at least 25 years, maybe longer. Because I remember that I was so impressed with them that I bought one for Dad, Grandad, Grandpa, and my brother before I found out they were carbon steel blades.

At first I was disappointed but then I think my Grandpa explained that you just have to learn to "take care of them" and they're fine. I wouldn't trade it for anything now except maybe a larger version. At 2 3/4" it's awfully small.
