What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Going with my fancy and only Yellowhorse/Case baby butterbean for Derby Day. It hardly ever gets any carry and is my only knife with stone scales. :D

I am not really sure why he picked the limited edition Case for this custom. It is not a 1 of 2500 - more like a 1 of 1.:)

I am not really fond of the fancy bolster work, however, I do like the blade swedging and the long pull master blade.

Wow...nice!

Gevonovich ~ that is really a beauty of a knife. Nice!

Was reading thru the David Tabor thread earlier this morning so I decided to take out my only sample for today of his work that I was lucky enough to score off a fellow forumite. He is quite talented IMHO.

Beautiful knife Joe!!!

Very nice Gev! Love how the rocks echo the color in the scales!!!

Thanks very much! There is something about this knife, for me, that makes me want to carry and use it. It cuts like a dream and is quite substantial, so it makes me feel like I have a real knife on me.

Thanks to you as well, Joe58! And that sir is one super fine Dr. T!!

Been away for several days visiting my daughter at college. All I took with me was this SAK Rambler. The Bull Nose arrived in the morning mail. It came surprisingly sharp from the factory (for a GEC) - as it sliced right through the paracord and made shreds of even the thinnest paper. As much as I love my yellow delrin CV small Sod Buster, this is a far better knife. Though I've heard you can put the knife on the table and watch it rust over the span of drinking a beer - I'm not concerned in the least. I'll just make sure I get a good patina on it. Then I'll drink the Trappistes Rochefort #8.

Menefee dogleg(mammoth ivory and 154cm) and a Sean O'Hare Sparrow( Mike Norris Crazy Lace stainless damascus, Mike Sakmar mokume gane guard with Turkish walnut handle) with Claude Scott sheath today,

I've put away most of my collection in that proverbial "sock drawer" and decided my EDC will be my Sod Buster in CV for the next few months.....

Great combo

From my experiences, O1 is no more rust prone then 1095. I live in Arkansas where the humidity is 200% in the summer :D. I sweat all day and dont coat my blades, never have an issue. I just open the blade(s) at the end of the work day, wipe them off and its good to go for the next day. Enjoy that f&f

Thanks! I'm getting hooked on SAKs. This little Rambler packs a whole lot more punch than many people might think. The scissors easily cut the edges of the paracord on my Bull Nose. The refrigerator handle was loose, so the phillips head screw driver took quick care of that. The small knife is more than up to the task of slicing through any food I'm likely to eat. And the nail file comes in handy every day. This, along with my sunkist orange Cadet and silver Pioneer get a lot of pocket time.
