What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Early BD present from a coworker.

=)

I was wandering around work muttering about "White Owls" so she asked me what I was yammering about, so I explained and showed her this site.

A week later...

Great combo

From my experiences, O1 is no more rust prone then 1095. I live in Arkansas where the humidity is 200% in the summer :D. I sweat all day and dont coat my blades, never have an issue. I just open the blade(s) at the end of the work day, wipe them off and its good to go for the next day. Enjoy that f&f

Thanks for the info on the O1. I have had only one blade get any rust so far - a CV Mini Trapper. And it was winter at the time here in Cleveland. I'll very often put a light coat of mineral oil on the blade if I'm not going to use it for a while. I'm thinking this Bull Nose will get a lot of use. Very practical size knife and blade.

Happy early birthday John (Jenner 515)! Lot's of great knives and photos today. Went to the post office this morning and picked this one up. Nothing too strenuous planned today but will be attending my daughter's tumbling performance and a wedding this evening. Carrying this Joe Allen EO will be a nice treat while attending those events.

Thanks! I'm getting hooked on SAKs. This little Rambler packs a whole lot more punch than many people might think. The scissors easily cut the edges of the paracord on my Bull Nose. The refrigerator handle was loose, so the phillips head screw driver took quick care of that. The small knife is more than up to the task of slicing through any food I'm likely to eat. And the nail file comes in handy every day. This, along with my sunkist orange Cadet and silver Pioneer get a lot of pocket time.

They have become indispensable to me...as soon as I don't have one with me, I need the awl or screwdriver for something! :D

WowZAA!!!!!!!!!! A nice treat indeed!!

Stephen - that one is fantastic - beautiful bone, teardrop shape, that shield, that swedge, that long pull master, and an easy opener to boot.

I want yer new knife!:D:D

Just got her yesterday, Case Teardrop Jack, very sleek;

thanks guys and for me, a real plus is that the back springs are flush in all three positions, something I've not seen in many production folders, Case got the geometry down on this one, well, at least the one I have ;)

Interesting that Gary. It's the same on my CASE Swayback Jacks as well. It's an unexpected bonus to have a knife that's flush on half-stop that isn't a custom. I really dislike any knife that is not flush when open (price seems to have little respect for this!) that's a noo no for me at least.

regards, Will

Oooh, yeah, copper is good, Erik. I'll trade you an equal weight of pennies for it . . . and they're almost all copper! ;) :D

I agree. Get a touch of rust on the 01 and it will come out with some steel wool, but keep a drop of oil on it and you're good. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, my stainless blades get more rust than my 01 or 1095...I simply forget to check them or oil them. They're stainless, right. ;) But it rains all the time here, and I live 7 blocks from the saltwater, so even my stainless is at risk.

Today it is rainy and cold, so I'm wearing a vest with six pockets, which means 3 of my favorite GEC #15s:

It's 200% humidity here too, but the temp is only 55 F. That Razorback duct tape is for you, Jeff! (You can take the boy out of Arkansaw, but you can't take the Arkansaw out of the boy!)

Thanks! That's a fairly spectacular knife you're carrying today as well. I'm having to DVR the Derby and watch it when we get home from the wedding.

Arkansaw, you must be from 'round here ;) They really need to change the spelling, no one says it with an S on the end. While I moved almost the exact opposite as you I don't think I can go back, love it out here. Today I am still giving the two swaybacks a side by side ride in the pocket.
