Stunning as always, Kris. But I'm particularly looking forward to seeing this whittler take shape.

Playing golf in a couple of hours, decided to carry a stainless stockman. This Craftsman has a lot of character.
I dig the brass bolsters— black and gold were my school colors!

Nice knife and good luck on the links today. I'm either a front 9 or back 9 guy, but never a full 18. I don't play often and it's too frustrating to play a full 18. :(

Kris, I sure do like that Jack Russell! The redwood handles are something else. The Norris goes without saying.

Wow ^. Ok G, you're gonna need to tell me a little more about that one.

Its a Lawson & Son Saynor pruner. Jack Black calls the style an Ettrick

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...s-the-Definition-of-Ettrick?highlight=ettrick

BRL says:

Saynor began c1810, but was not called Saynor Cooke & Ridal until 1876. Saynor knives are still made now. The company makes horticultural knives.

There used to be a catalog page in the sticky...Vintage Catalogs. I have a couple if you can't find it, that I will have to post in flicker for you to see. Let me know

Thanks - that sure is a beauty (and your photo skills do it justice). The color and texture transitions through the handle are amazing.

You always make my day when you show pics of that beauty

Here's a pic of one you might not have seen , its my fixed blade Tina that I use for my leatherwork .
It's the same blade dimensions as your 605 , but fixed .

Where is G2 with pics of that pointy one he has :)

Ken

Ooh, now that looks like a handy fella! Like the sheath too. Neat work and tidily cut out;)

Thank you very much!! Coming from a skilled master such as yourself, that means a lot! It is one of my favorites ,not only for its shear beauty but it is a real cutter!

And..yes I am real careful with it. I guess I need a new rendition of it, a custom perhaps:p The John Lloyds that Charlie had commissioned are just stunning!! See page 5 on link above. I also would like to try a stereoisomer ( enantiomer ) of the handle and see how that feels
